WUT? He chose to go toe to toe to please guys like you and me. You know he has the skills to not get hit. I do feel sorry for him that he's resorting to getting hit so he can get exciting fights. But man can he crack.
Rigo's back baby!

38 YO is ancient for a 122 lb'er & his legs can't be what they used to be. He ain't no pretty boy dancer though. He's tougher than horseshit; walked right through some hellacious body shots from Ceja.

^^Well said. Was a bullshit stoppage too. He is old, but put other interests before his own health. Disappointed in the way he fought.

Jeez. He's been criticised his whole career, decided to stand in front of the guy to slug it out and silence critics, and you're disappointed? Why?
Because that's not fighting smart or who he really is. I understand why he did it and how he started late as a pro and is 38.

I remember Winky dropped his hands in the rematch with Mosley, got clocked and hat to tie up. In the corner his trainer chewed him out and ended it with "God dammit! That ain't you".

As exciting as it was, it would've been a shame to have seen the 38 year old Cuban (two time Olympic champ) lose to a lesser fighter. I'd rather him stay true to himself and not take unnecessary damage :good

Rigo did not attempt to box and move whether thats because his legs are gone or he doesnt have the stamina to do it but if someone told us Rigo would go toe to toe in the middle of the ring with Ceja we would have predicted Rigo to lose, he slugged it out and even stayed calm when getting hit with big shots plus the guy is like 45 and inactive

Gotcha! And agreed. That's why I said that I feel sorry for him, resorting to taking punches to the face at 40 y/o during the tail end of his career. Such a shame. He could've easily used his amazing upper body movement while still standing in front of his opponent.

As stated above, I think it was a very conscious choice on his part to stand and trade. He got tagged way more than I would like to see but man that left hand is like a heat seeking missile. Are the folks who previously considered him boring now a fan of this new style? The thread title seems to be more of an excuse to bash the fans of the guy and the style.

I think he was trying to work on his inside game, possibly has his sights on someone. He showed glimpses of being able to end it at will
