Shiro TKO-4. Taconing looked dead when he got up. Still wobbling all over the place. I think it was a good stoppage.

By the way, on the undercard Joe Noynay (18-2-1, 7KOs) upset Olympic 2012 Bronze Medallist Satoshi Shimizu with a sixth round stoppage. Shimizu was 8-0, 8KOs going into the fight, having successfully defended the OPBF featherweight title four times.
Just looked it up on the fight card. Those Filipinos are some powerful punchers. Man, it's always them that have those really fucking odd upsets out of nowhere . Shimizu looks like he was getting fast-tracked.

I was watching Brant/Khasan at a luxury hotel during my interview. It was a great Saturday for sure. I was watching the undercard at a bar with some of the grad students. Got a good buzz from a few drinks one of them bought me. Anyways, Noynay fffuuuck up Shimizu.

Oh, Shimizu quit. Was weird. He turned his back to this opponent and took a brutal shot while going back to his corner .

By the way, why does ESPN keeping upping Prescott/Crawford? Was Prescott a contender at the time? I have no memory of Prescott ever being a contender.

Murata did do better in the rematch with N'Dam, IIRC. Again, I'd hate to be the coach that has to come up with a gameplan for Murata, though.
So, he's definitely a fighter that improves with rematches. This time he let his hands go and landed his devastating power. Brant was lucky the referee stopped it when he did. Only one way that fight was going to end.

So Canelo/Murata in September? Makes me wonder. By the way, Horn better not, just no. Murata is way too big and way too strong. Brant would've been a better matchup being roughly the same size.

Thought he was supposed to fight GGG after the first one.
Shit, I really don't know. Rumors were that Canelo was targeting Smith, Kovalev, or Andrade. I've not seen GGG mentioned in any rumors yet; although, maybe I just wasn't looking in the right place.

As they said on ESPN+, Murata was in the running for a Canelo fight. Makes me wonder if he secured it with this win. I don't think Canelo has an opponent for September yet.
