Sadly most of the news articles lead with him being most famous for that cry and his later life struggles. But he was a great boxer in his day. Former two-time champion at super featherweight. Knocked out Roger Mayweather in a round; also has wins over Cornelius Boza-Edwards and Barry Michael. Although he's probably best known for a close MD loss to Julio Cesar Chavez, as well as controversial decisions dropped to Wilfredo Gomez and Eusebio Pedroza.

RIP.

Tough son of gun.

Barry Michael was never off his feet in 60 pro fights and over 500 pro rounds, and only stopped twice. One of those was by Rocky Lockridge, in what would be Michael's final fight.

RIP Rocky

Has anyone ever seen that intervention episode? That cry was actually from a pretty powerful moment. A shame that it's a running meme.

'Straya, cunt.
RIP Rocky Lockridge, one of the all time greats, as DB Cooper has stated, he gave our boy Barry a tremendous hiding, a story I’ve heard Barry tell a few times, earned his respect, they forged a friendship in that ring and remaned in touch from then on in.

Oddly, the thing I think I'll always remember about Lockridge was his brilliant take down of a jerk in the street.

Aw, damn! This sucks, as Rocky had a tough life inside and outside the ring. He was screwed several times in the ring, as he was never truly the A-side fighter. He made some bad decisions outside the ring, as he was a product of his environment. I choose to remember the fond memories that he gave me on Saturdays and Sundays. RIP Champ. May you find happuness in the afterlife.

Show dem balls bro
R.I.P. champ. Saw him against the local Sac town hero at the time Tony Lopez in the late '80's at Arco Arena. Prayers to his family.

Edit: Forgot what a rough, tough fight that was. Excellent brawl between two tough champs.
