Quigg could pick up the WBA Regular and the IBF agaisnt Romero by the end of the year.
He could, but he won't. At best he'll win the WBA "regular" title and Hearn will claim he's a world champion. Do you remember Hearn saying Ward should come to England as Froch had two belts and Ward had none, despite Ward holding the real WBA title? I do. Just like I remember Hearn referring to a fight with Salinas as a world title fight at the weekend.

If Quigg wins he'll defend it and home and they'll pretend he's a world champion, when Rigo holds the real WBA belt - and Hearn wouldn't put Quigg in with him.

Spot on Bat.

I'm never going to accept anyone calling themselves a world champion with some sort of interim/regular WBA belt, especially when the person in question is refusing to fight the real belt holder.

If Hearn and Quigg wanted they could fight Rigondeaux this year, but we all know he will take the apart. This regular belt nonsense is aload of shit, and its very disrespectful to the real WBA World Champions Elite fighter such as Andre Ward and Rigo.

Hearn loves the WBA regular belt. Bigged up Kessler then Froch now Quigg. It's bullshit.

I don't get the hate
Quiggs in position to fight for the regular belt, himself and Hearn aren't going to reject it as none of the posters on here would
He isn't going to fight rigo because he isn't ready, quigg had limited amateur experience so he needs more rounds
And what really does my head in is if quigg wins the regular belt all anyone will do is moan about the paper title but most of all if he signed to fight rigo everyone would say he should of fought for the regular
It's a worthy progression for quigg with a recognised belt and why blame Hearn it isn't his fault he has only just got Scott who was already in position and so what if he got him there anyway.if people want to bitch then moan about the governing bodies not the promoters and fighters
As for the fight in question it could be good and we will get to see it.tidy

Salinas doesn't hold any title, He and Quigg are fighting for the vacant 'Regular' WBA title, whatever the fuck that is. What's going on with team Frampton is that wee Barry is looking out for himself not Carl, leaving Hearn/Sky for Warren/Boxnation was a decision made to benefit Barry's pockets only, he wasn't happy with just taking a managerial fee so now he gets a promoters fee as well. Young Carl's just to star struck to see what's really going on.
Its the same belt Povetkin has.

I fucking hate the WBA. They seem to be the least prolific in enforcing mandatories along with the WBC which makes the super belt even more stupid (if possible).

Dont start with that Hearn bullshit. Rigos the WBA champ, nobody else. Salinas has a paper belt, its not even a real title.
I dont disagree with you, rigo is the champ and wba is just getting as much money as they can in sanctioning fees.

If Quigg wins that minor WBA belt he will be a mandatory for Rigo. And if Quigg does not fight Rigo he gets stripped.

I bet hearn hopes that Rigo steps up in weight and that Quigg then can fight for the vacated title... why not? Didnt Rigo said he might step up?

Think this is very likely the scenario that Fast Car is hoping plays out and who can blame him.
