Had hoped - like most of us - the rumours about the WBSS were wrong.

The best thing to come along in a long time and it looks like falling over.

Boxing appears to be just plain irreparable.

Looks like it could be that Baranchyk was just putting the pressure on them to finalise the date.

If so, it worked!

May 18th in Glasgow. I will be there!

Twist and turns keep coming...

FRISCO, Texas — Ivan Baranchyk has withdrawn from the World Boxing Super Series, his manager, David McWater, told The Ring on Thursday.

McWater told The Ring on Friday that nothing has changed and that “as far as we’re concerned” Baranchyk won’t be participating in the tourney. McWater said he would soon begin the process of finding a network deal for Baranchyk, The Ring’s No. 6 fighter at 140 pounds. He said that “out of respect for the World Boxing Super Series, we’ve done no negotiations or talks with anybody. They didn’t show us any, but we showed them respect.”

Huh, I guess they better pray that Taylor wins, which he probably will, since it throws a wrench if Baranchyk wins and pulls out of the tournament. Anyways, I hope the fight is still going on. It's a fight that needs to happen.

The other junior welterweight semifinal between world titleholder Kiryl Relikh and Regis Prograis is also in jeopardy because Prograis is also considering withdrawing over similar issues, Sam Katkovski of Churchwell Management, which manages Prograis, told ESPN on Wednesday.

Katkovski said Prograis is still owed a portion of money from his quarterfinal victory and they are also concerned about being paid for the semifinals as well as how long it will take to finish a tournament that was supposed to last less than a year.

"They are stalling Regis' career at a time when there are a lot of significant opportunities out there for him," Katkovski said.

Inoue vs Rodriguez is heading to Scotland as part of the Taylor show, so they must be confident Baranchyk's not pulling out... Right?

Hopefully so. That would be a brilliant show to have in Britain
