Decent performance, you can see the Fury style in full effect, a bit of a sloppy defense at times but got the job done. I was disappointed with all of the fight week interviews going down the Clarissa Shield route, it's clear to see the direction matchroom are going to take with her, just hope they don't boil her down to middle or that one. Would like to see her in with Femke Hermans next then unify the titles.

There's really no need to hold her back at this point. TBH considering the lack of any depth in the division, in an ideal world she should have been contesting for 'world' titles by her 3rd or 4th fight.

The guys on the Boxing Asylum all seem to think Shields easily beats Marshall.

What do others think? Marshall looks huge for the height, just a question of whether she has a chin or not.

With 2 minute rounds I'd be much more comfortable if she had a solid 10 rounder with an experienced girl before title fights. Although I do concede that the shallowness of the division makes that near impossible.

At SM I'd give Marshall a better chance as she is huge and likes to sit down on her power punches, all providing she has a constant jab and enough output over the rounds. Shields has better orthdox fundamentals and better hands, but doesn't seem a big puncher. If Marshall is on her game and does the right things then it's far from easy. But as I said before, I'd like to see Marshall do her own thing at SM and not being rushed into boiling down to MW which is where Shields would probably like to have it.

Eddie needs to put his hand deeper into his pockets for some of these opponents, get her on the Hughie bill with somebody like Femke Hermans.

Round and about
I know the talent pool's shallow but that 'fight' at the weekend was a shocking mismatch. It was hard to watch at times.
