Also, to go further. Millions of people already live in poverty. This economy is leaving my generation behind. "BuT uNeMpLoYmEnT iS 3.8%!!" Yeah because everyone is working 2 or 3 jobs to handle the crushing weight of student loans, skyrocketing property costs, and wages that have been stagnant since the 70s. That's your economic argument, regardless of how the stock market looks.
Just one thing, if you don't pick up a liberal arts degree your guaranteed a job. Even with a liberal arts degree you can get a job. My friend with an art history degree got a six figure job in medical marketing. The nyc metro area has more jobs than people, I'd say that's a good indicator of a healthy economy.

I realize poverty still exists in America, but it wont improve just because a Democrat will be in office. No Democrat that i know of is offering tools for people to move put of poverty, are they?

Fuck no. They’d be the last ones to do that.

I don't know exactly what you think the starting wage in STEM fields are like, but the cost of education is such that even engineers and doctors spend years paying off their education.
My engineering degree should cost about $55k, but I paid it off before i finished school. My starting salary was $70k, so about $4k a month after taxes, i could potentially pay that off in 5 years. Within 5 years i had a promotion and a nice raise. So in that time frame i could have my student debt paid off in 3-4 years with that salary.

If youre in STEM you have it good as you're guaranteed a job with a degree.

Interesting, how did he pull that off?
She just applied for random jobs and fell into it, i think she started 60k, but after worki andng 3 years was bumped up to $100k. This is nyc, outside of the city you make the same about $5k less per year due to taxes. Im sure its not like this all over the country but its definitely improving in many parts.

I work in civil construction and we just can't find enough guys to work, there are literally zero skilled people for us to hire.

Civil engineering. I work in project management for a civil roads company. We do civil projects for the state and fiber optic road and post installs for telecommunications companies. Its kinda crazy insane busy, especially on the telecommunications side. Every company wants to expand 5G and the technology for fiber optic is changing every few years so it's pretty much endless work as long as we can keep up.

Idk about sending immigrants to sanctuary cities, but perhaps every major city and state can share the burden of supporting the immigrants, and Trump does have a point thay the border cities have to take on the burden of new migrants.

Pete Buttigieg officially announces presidential campaign.

This should be interesting. First openly gay candidate for POTUS. The Rudder is in his throes. Interesting to see the reaction of Democrats if this campaign gets any traction. Do they remain faithful to their, supposed, ideals? Or do they cop an out?
