 crazy fight for Kuzmin and Bakole. Similar record and both lost to Hunter .

I think Bakole by KO here btw.

I don't know much about Kuzmin. (OK, I don't know ANYTHING about Kuzmin.)

Bakole is a monster. Also great head slips and ability to stay in the pocket & trade. - but he only has average speed.
Does Kuzmin have good speed & defense?

I'm not sure why you think that's funny. Hunter has really blossomed at HW.
He was also a fine CW, but always weight-drained. He arguably gave Usyk his toughest fight, other than Breidas.

It's spelled out twice. Both exactly 15-1 and both lost to the same fighter. Crazy coincidence.

Good fight. Bakole should be better up close, and Kuzmin at distance. My instinct is Bakole by late(ish) stoppage. I'd like to rewatch some of their fights though before sticking to that.

FWIW, Wach supposedly told the Polish press that Bakole hit him harder than any other fighter he ever faced. - And that includes Povetkin and Wlad.

I recently watched some of his other fights again, to remember why I think Bakole is one of the top HW prospects right now. (Besides his power & head movement.)
While his foot speed is average, he has a VERY fast & crisp jab. He also likes to use a lead hook, and like Wlad can disguise it as a jab when he first starts it.
He also fights a lot like a HW version of prime Golovkin - relentlessly stalking, staying in the pocket, not taking his eyes off the prize, and even throwing punches from lots of odd angles.

This guy is da' goods, though a very mobile fighter with a long reach might give him trouble. - Or maybe a pure athlete like Usyk.

I still know fukall about Kuzmin. :hat

I fancied Kuzmin when this was posted, but I'm unsure. I think he can be a little too predictable and the defensive pivot is key to beating him. That said, he has a strong amateur pedigree and is a heavyweight you won't want to slug it with. The body work could drain Bakole.

Bakole doesn't have terrible feet (average tbh), but he's not as nimble as Hunter. He needs to be very careful of that overhand right up close.

For me, the two key things are the defensive pivot and Kuzmin's weight. He was sluggish at 258 against Hunter and was gassed. He's a mid 240s fighter for me and has given his best performances in the pros at the 240 bracket. I will be keeping my eyes on the weigh-in.

So, Kuzmin on points if he's 240 ish. 250+ and Bakole stops him late imo.

I still haven't seen Kuzmin fight, but Boxrec says he has an astonishingly short 75.5" reach.

The one thing you don't want to do with Bakole is trade on the inside, so this might be a very bad matchup for the lad.
Unless Kuzmin is really good at getting in & out fast.

He's big and chubby, he comes forward, has power. Russian champion x2 and fought in WSB. I think he's 6'3'' or 4? Standard height, but quite fleshy. It's not a style you would associate with Russia or Eastern bloc countries tbh.

I think he's one dimensional for a heavyweight, but very well-schooled. Kuzmin will test your chin up close. Especially with that overhand right. A good jab neutralises him, but Kuzmin will test Bakole's chin.

Kuzmin KO-ing Joyce.
