It's no secret that many athletes are notoriously bad about handling their career earnings. So many of them spend like there's no tomorrow or their career will go on for many more years when all it takes is one injury to end it all.
There's been more "rags to riches, back to rags" stories associated with athletes that you'd think the younger ones would be more aware of the pitfalls of having all that money thrown at them at such an young age, and learn how to better handle it, or surround themselves with trusted people that do.
I really hate seeing boxers well past their prime trying to reclaim some of that glory-------and money. It usually ends bad for them with embarrassing losses or less than stellar wins against journeymen fighters.
