Taken from the pictures/video thread, where in the course of random discussion I posted a couple of mini documentaries just made by some random weirdo who is REALLY into some strange subculture or arcane area of knowledge and he just can't wait to tell you all about it, and even though you have no interest at all in the topic at hand, you enjoy it.

This got a surprisingly good response buried in the picture thread, so I'd like to see a few more short mini-docos about random subjects. I'm sure between us, we can come up with several good ones.

Anyway, to start off:

Canadian guy, looks about 14, comes off like a geek, but he's RIGHT into his motorbikes. Great little 15 minute doco about how Harley-Davidson spent 40 years sleepwalking themselves into irrelevance. His channel has lots of great motorbike themed vids. And I don't give two shits about motorbikes.

Defunctland - random weirdo is obsessed with the stories of why failed theme/amusement parks were forced to shut down. Here's the story of Action Park, a legendary New Jersey amusement park that was shut down twice for being FAR too dangerous and routinely maiming and brutalising multiple generations of kids and adults. Where the fuck does he get the old footage for his docos?

"How Kodak Exposed the Atomic Bomb." (thanks, @plankton :thumbsup )

Post more up! Surely between us we can come up with a bunch of short, fascinating doco about a bunch of random subjects. Even the likes of TierZoo would fit:

where Im from,yeah.................apparently the colonists would rather eat old salt pork than lobster

I once made an offhand comment to my dad that I'd never eaten lobster. He looked at me like I was a complete idiot, and said "You ate lobster your entire childhood. What the hell do you think a Balmain bug is? It's just a lobster with no claws."

True crime daily is a good channel if you're into unsolved murders/disappearances.

The Blackpool grime docs are worth a watch if you want a good laugh, but they also give a kinda interesting insight into UK coastal town poverty which I think doesn't get spoken about enough.

The Tifo Football channel has some great mini docs with class animations and editing and plenty of depth. Some are about tactics and players but some also ask interesting hypotheticals like "what if all football stopped for a year?" There's a Tifo Basketball channel now too.

documentary is almost a outdated word as far as youtube content goes.

i've been watcing a lot made by: stefan milo, kings and generals, slapshoes, real crusades history (can be biased, know your own shit before taking theirs as wrote)

i mean, if you watch something on youtube and like it, do your own research, if shit's legit keep watching.

This is by far the best content created under lockdown, a mini-doc about squirrel proof bird feeders. Watched this shit 5 times it's that cool.

that's pretty cool on 1st view but is also complete shit.

you wanna feed birds without squirels getting the food just have a pole with a metal dish/circle that is too big for the rodent to get past.

that silly obstacle course shit is just made for youtube content and fucks over wild animals.
