Could Terry benefit from switching to another trainer? He's been with Steve Maylett a while now and also noticed Bobby Rimmer there last night I know he has worked with Terry before.Theyve all done great things together at lightweight and I cant pin too much blame on the calibre of defences that Flanagan faced. At the end of the day they were screaming for big fights and Frank didnt deliver them. They were calling out Crolla but Hearn was pricing him out of the fight, absolutely criminal that fight didnt happen and if Hearn ever needs a reason to understand why he gets booed at boxing events every weekend he need not look any further than that fight never happening.

So who would add those extra attributes to Terry's game? What was missing last night and against Hooker?

I personally thought he looked that little bit sharper and less sluggish than against Hooker. He was using that little step back much more and he's explosive with the counter off it.I expected Prograis to come forward much more but he was very patient and waited on the outside.Very accurate and didnt waste anything. When guys fight like this against Flanagan it is proving to be a style he struggles with.

Lets give Terry a guy who comes forward next,a guy who will come to fight and bring the best out of him.He needs that Crolla/Murray sort of fight to get the buzz back.

Not sure if a trainer will fix it, there wasn't a lot wrong last night other than he was in with a very good fighter with a style that gave him trouble.

I think you're bang on the money with the style off opponents though, get him in a fight and he's still going to be competitive close to world level.

I said before Terry's fight kicked off last night I would love to see him in with Baranchyk. Not sure he would win it but it would be a war and Terry would probably look at home under that sort of pressure

Suppose Terry could face Yigit next with both having the WBSS exposure.
Possibly for the European Title...
That wouldn't be the worst fight, liked what I saw of Yigit, he just couldn't handle too much of Baranchyk.
Fair play though he was game enough and it was only the eye that stopped him

Flanagan was always hard done by with the Crolla fight, that should have been his #1 aim, but he never seemed to force the agenda like he should have done.

Not seen this one, but Prograis was always a tough ask. I assume it's back to the well trodden Frank Warren path of a vacant WBO shot.

I don't know who all the back ups for the WWBS are (think Postol is 1) but trying to annex that position might be a good idea. Don't think he can hang around with a gimme if he's comfortable at this weight, I'd be fine with a 10 rounder with Yigit. I'd even be happy with Ohara or Davies Jr or that french guy who beat Eggington.

is Flanagan still with Warren?

Maybe a return fight against Joe Hughes? Then challenge Robbie Davies Jnr for the British and European Super-Lightweight Titles?
Ultimately aim for Crolla at the M.E.N...
Don't understand why that fight never happened when they both had world straps.

Warren done fuck all with him as champion anyway.

His defences were shit against guys like Matthews and Dana. Awful reign and was out of the ring for 14 months at one point.

That's weird if you are a major beltholder
