and this scene:Disagree. The opening in Jabbas palace with Luke demonstrating his Jedi abilities is iconic and the ending is with Luke overcoming the dark side and saving his father and Vader destroying the emperor is the high point of the series. Of course the rest was poor but those 2 scenes make it a slightly above average fantasy film.
Very campy yet effective emotionally. Probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite.
Yeah, they teased Finn being force sensitive like 3 times in RoS yet they did nothing with it. Maybe in a spin off he will become a jedi.Coulda had Finn leading a stormtrooper rebellion on some universal soldier shit. Literally writes itself
Eh. Rian Johnson and JJ are just art school nerds who are more interested in shocking the audience and subverting expectations than crafting a coherent satisfying story. Biggest issue is apparently they didn't have the trilogy mapped out. JJ made force awakens which was a rehash of a new hope. Rian Johnson took it said that movie sucks I'll make own oh and fuck star wars fans cuz it's funny and makes the dreck that was last jedi. JJ gets the nod because Disney's like "oh shit this is bad everyone hates us" and JJ being the king of convoluted plotlines makes whatever that was.Yeah, they teased Finn being force sensitive like 3 times in RoS yet they did nothing with it. Maybe in a spin off he will become a jedi.
Really what was the point of Finn in 8 and 9?
Also, aside from the absurdity of having planet destroying star destroyers (why does he need kylo ren at all if he has that kind of firepower? How long has he been sitting on this fleet?) where did Palpatine get the resources and manpower for that fleet? It just seems so sloppily written, did Palp just create the star destroyers out of thin air with the force?
This film raises more questions than answers. Who are Reys parents and why wasn't her father force sensitive? Who did Palpatine hook up with? How is Luke's old x wing still functional? Why does Palpatine effectively commit suicide, why doesn't he just stop firing lightning?
that kinda defines a shit character DobyYou can hate Rey all you want but she was an awesome character.
no weaknesses whatsover.
Well it isn't.I thought that was pretty clear.
She had abandonment issues..that kinda defines a shit character Doby
a mary sue,to be exact
COMPELLING characters have weaknesses,flaws................thats why Spider-Man is a better character than Superman..........
Why does every single big good guy (and some bad guy) characters in every single Star Wars movies have abandonment issues? She had abandonment issues..
mother than that, epic strong character..
Rian Johnson said he gimped Luke because he wanted Luke to have a character 'arc' and that generic characters with linear oaths are boring.......but that's exactly what Rey is. Boring and generic. So it's a little contradictory. You can hate Rey all you want but she was an awesome character.
no weaknesses whatsover.
You’re just mad because the strongest Jedi ever was a WOMAN!!!Rian Johnson said he gimped Luke because he wanted Luke to have a character 'arc' and that generic characters with linear oaths are boring.......but that's exactly what Rey is. Boring and generic. So it's a little contradictory.
Also Colin Trevorrow originally wrote Part 3 not JJ Abrams. In that version Rey is not related to Palpatine and Kylo killed her parents. She also wasn't Supergirl on steroids but pivitol to the resistance winning and starting a new Jedi academy. Remember that kid in the stable in Last Jedi? He was going to be her pupil. Now THAT would have been a more developed character ....
Don't what we got was a generic woke infused she-god. It was so bad. But I know you're trolling us anyway so wp sir I say
