Disagree. The opening in Jabbas palace with Luke demonstrating his Jedi abilities is iconic and the ending is with Luke overcoming the dark side and saving his father and Vader destroying the emperor is the high point of the series. Of course the rest was poor but those 2 scenes make it a slightly above average fantasy film.

Very campy yet effective emotionally. Probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite.

Coulda had Finn leading a stormtrooper rebellion on some universal soldier shit. Literally writes itself

Yeah, they teased Finn being force sensitive like 3 times in RoS yet they did nothing with it. Maybe in a spin off he will become a jedi.

Really what was the point of Finn in 8 and 9?

Also, aside from the absurdity of having planet destroying star destroyers (why does he need kylo ren at all if he has that kind of firepower? How long has he been sitting on this fleet?) where did Palpatine get the resources and manpower for that fleet? It just seems so sloppily written, did Palp just create the star destroyers out of thin air with the force?

This film raises more questions than answers. Who are Reys parents and why wasn't her father force sensitive? Who did Palpatine hook up with? How is Luke's old x wing still functional? Why does Palpatine effectively commit suicide, why doesn't he just stop firing lightning?

Eh. Rian Johnson and JJ are just art school nerds who are more interested in shocking the audience and subverting expectations than crafting a coherent satisfying story. Biggest issue is apparently they didn't have the trilogy mapped out. JJ made force awakens which was a rehash of a new hope. Rian Johnson took it said that movie sucks I'll make own oh and fuck star wars fans cuz it's funny and makes the dreck that was last jedi. JJ gets the nod because Disney's like "oh shit this is bad everyone hates us" and JJ being the king of convoluted plotlines makes whatever that was.

Hopefully Favreau can fix it all

Saw it in theaters again..gonna see it every Tuesday for five bucks until it is released on blue Ray.

I like the movie a lot.

the worst part was Palpatine vs Rey...

it was terrible. They should have used every known sith trick vs Jedi trick in the entire universe and some. I would say a good 5 minute battle.

the space battle scenes freakin could have been better..

fuckin Finn was a WASTED character. He had so much potential. He should have gotten together with Rey.

I like how the first order were all black. God what can I say, storm troopers gonna storm troop. They went from tough Maori warriors to black clones who were all mind fucked from the get go.

Palpatine is still an all time bad ass character. He mind fucks absolutely everybody.

I think astral planing jedis is a stupid motherfuckin concept but alas..you can blame that one from the previous movie.

You can hate Rey all you want but she was an awesome character.

no weaknesses whatsover.

I thought that was pretty clear.

:hat
Well it isn't.

The concensus is Mace won fairly.

And this post is particularly interesting from the force boards:

isn't the word of Lucas taken as gospel on the PT forums?
He said Mace won. That should satisfy you.

But like I say. I personally feel he let Mace win.

Show dem balls bro
She had abandonment issues..

mother than that, epic strong character..
character.
Why does every single big good guy (and some bad guy) characters in every single Star Wars movies have abandonment issues?

Anakin: Abandonment Issues.
Luke: Abandonment Issues.
Kylo Ren: Abandonment Issues (he more left his parents).
Han and Leia: Abandonment Issues (cause son left them for the dark side).
Boba Fett: Abandonment Issues.
Rey: Abandonment Issues.

List goes on and on. What the actual fuck? :verysad

Also, does anyone know what character was going to be originally named "Cos Dashit" (caused the shit :yep) before that was scrapped and the name replaced?

Rian Johnson said he gimped Luke because he wanted Luke to have a character 'arc' and that generic characters with linear oaths are boring.......but that's exactly what Rey is. Boring and generic. So it's a little contradictory.

Also Colin Trevorrow originally wrote Part 3 not JJ Abrams. In that version Rey is not related to Palpatine and Kylo killed her parents. She also wasn't Supergirl on steroids but pivitol to the resistance winning and starting a new Jedi academy. Remember that kid in the stable in Last Jedi? He was going to be her pupil. Now THAT would have been a more developed character ....

Don't what we got was a generic woke infused she-god. It was so bad. But I know you're trolling us anyway so wp sir I say ;)
