Okay, I'm going to do it. I need a bit of advise, though. What's everyone's preferred broker, E*trade? I was thinking going with that. I just think this is a great time for investment, but I'm a complete novice at this.

If anyone can give me a bit of advise and we can keep this thread up.

Where the fuck to start?
  1. Best brokerage site?
  2. Investment ideas?
  3. Best timing?

I missed the time to buy Walmart stock and make a solid profit. I was telling my parents to buy right when the collapse happened. Fuck me, Walmart bounced up to 120+ now from 105 or so. :wall

I'm going to have to figure this shit out by myself I guess. Fuck CHB .

What part of extended Spring Break don't you understand? I don't have to get back to work until Monday. I'm just reading and finishing up a project until then. I also don't have to teach anymore, so that's a huge plus.

How much would you invest? I'm not sure this is the time to start though. I could understand if you had some experience, but as a beginner, it would be better to dip your toes in the water rather than dive in head first. I would be tempted too though.

I'm thinking a max of 500 atm. If we get that 2000 from Trump, I might go all in with that. I have my eye set on a certain pharmaceutical company that the CEO I talked to came out of. They went from a value of 700 to collapsing to .50 USD now. The thing is that they're about to finish a clinical trial, and the science behind it is sound. I feel like when they finish the two clinical trials they'll be worth a lot of money. Who knows, though.

It's always risky over the short term mate. Now more than ever.

Pharm company's usual have long lead times and high development costs too.

Also what you have described could be insider trading. Not that anyone would be that bothered at such a small level. Not unless you happened to mention in a publically recorded place...

Buying stocks now is as good an investment today as buying Bitcoins @ 18K in early 2018. Wise people went 100% fiat a month or two ago and know this is just the beginning. Markets will keep plunging.

Wait, can you tell me how? I'm not quite understanding. So, this certain company, I did not talk to the CEO I met about it. I want to repeat that it never came up since I was just hyped about meeting the guy. The thing is that I looked at his resume prior to interviewing with him, and he used to be a main guy at the company. I think he was the PI that ran a certain part of it. He's branched off with his own idea now. His science is fucking sound, and he was trained by the main guy at this place. I then did some investigating, and they work in an area that I did my master's thesis on. The science is fucking sound, and if it works, it'll be treatment for a very ubiquitous disease.

Also, is it insider trading if you are not directly but somewhat a part of a secret project for a pharmaceutical company and start investing in said company? I just want to get an idea if I'll get in trouble for that .

Damn, I just want to time it right, but there are two companies I do want to invest long-term in, though. As Warren Buffet said in one interview, buy stocks for a company you want to buy.

I was just joking, you will be fine. No one is going to arrest you for doing that. Even if it was illegal, it's hard to prove, and difficult to trace at such a small value.

I am no expert in investing, but it's risky in the short term, particularly if you don't know what you are doing. But if you won't miss the money, then there us no harm in taking a punt.

Okay, there goes the $500. Bought 1 stock of Walmart just for shits and giggles, bought some stock in Slack, Chase, Moderna, and I put the rest in my pharmaceutical plan. I think I'm going to be putting more and more money in that pharmaceutical thing until I get to at least $1K. I mean $1K isn't a significant risk for me, thankfully. I lose it, I lose it.

I missed the time to invest in Moderna, though. I got a tip about their Coronavirus vaccine testing from a friend, but the news just made it mainstream and they had a huge bump just now.

I missed the Walmart and Moderna buy time because I was hesitant. :verysad

I use Thinkorswim personally, even though it's become laggy for many and getting filled has been a bit annoying. I initially started out trading stocks a bit here and there but I found out a few months ago that I much prefer options trading. It would be a nice time to buy stock if we actually knew where the bottom was. Things could still get cheaper so no point in actually investing yet. If you're on the in with companies with potential upside on the long-term and it looks promising then fuck it. I think options are the better way to go as you don't need as much capital as with trading stocks but with the recent moves and spikes in volatility, not a good idea if you're completely new to it.

This one that I just invested in looks like it'll make a huge return on investment. Just a hunch, though. They're still holding up well even with the collapse, hovering around 0.50-0.40. Just, it's going to get real once they get the clinical trials finished, especially if it makes the situation worse for the patient. If it's all good, I wonder how much of a bump it'll get in this climate...

Yeah, I went ahead and jumped into TD Ameritrade. This pharmaceutical company does really well if you can buy large quantities at less than 0.50. You're never in the red at least. I'm thinking about selling off everything else and going all in on this. Fucking Moderna is killing me, but I only bought 2 shares. I was retarded not buying in when my friend told me about the clinical testings. Too fucking hesitant, and I fucking missed buying Walmart at ~$100! I could've been in the green even with the huge drop since people found out it takes years for a clinical trial to finish .
