Just checked BoxRec. Beterbiev seems to have gotten a fabulous stoppage over Hot Rod. Definitely what he needed to show that he's still a threat and a top fighter. I, like everyone else, was watching Canelo/Jacobs. Probably should've opted for Beterbiev. Going to watch with my dad tomorrow, though.

Anyways, on top of this win, Callum Johnson win grew some too.

Beterbiev/Kovalev is definitely the fight to make in the division. Bad blood, monstrous punchers, and stylistically like PB&J. I favored Beterbiev strongly after Kovalev fought Mikhalkin. I favored Kovalev when he was topping the p4p charts. Now, I think this is 50-50 and the perfect time to make this fight. I don't know who to favor anymore.

I hope Kovalev wipes the floor with Yarde because I think Kovalev/Beterbiev is best for boxing.

Turned it on in round 4 Beterbiev was beating him up missed the KO though

Beterbiev is promoted by Top Rank so is Gvozdyk and Kovalev is co-promoted by Top Rank, we are finally going to see the beast Beterbiev unify

Gvozdyk is something else, though. Dude put Stevenson in a coma! Either way, I don't give a fuck what anyone says. Winner of the round robin between Kovalev/Beterbiev/Govzdyk is p4p #1 imo. These three are such good fighters.

So we can confidently put money on Gvozdyk and Kovalev against him, then, DKSAB!?

“He’s back!” Fucking “He’s back”!? The bloke’s 14-0-0 (admitttadlt with 14 stoppages) and a world title, where’s he been FFS? He’ll be in fights when he’s in with Kovalev, Porter, Browne and Alvarez, he’s not faltered, let alone dropped a fight, where the fuck does “he’s back come from?

In my opinion, this is his biggest win in a long time, if not his best win outright. Since beating Campillo, his competition has been lacking. He was considered a force after stopping Cloud. Nowadays he seems to just be thought of as some footnote while Bivol, Kovalev, and Gvozdyk have been getting all the fans' respect.

It was a respectable win, and he stopped a guy that arguably beat Browne (though most had him beating Browne outright, not arguably anyways).

Beterbiev got hit too much for my liking

Funny, I actually was impressed by how much his defense has improved!

He did get hit a bit, but very few flush shots, due to head movement & such. Plus, Hot Rod is a VERY good boxer. (If only he had a little more power, he'd be elite.)

I was also very impressed by Beterbiev's new ability to attack from angles, and also his overall aggression, which partly accounts for why he took a lot of hits.

Mark Ramsey is doing a fantastic job with him.

Im suprised Beterbiev was so aggressive considering he got dropped by Johnson, Beterbiev's aggression can work against Kovalev and Gvozdyk but Im not sure being that wild would against Bivol, hes so technically sound he could catch Beterbiev coming in

I agree. Bivol is crazy good off the back foot. That will be a fascinating matchup if it happens.
