Got half way through then noticed a bit of wet paint on my feature wall, so watched that dry instead.

Seeing them inject PC standards of today into the mid-80's middle America (a decidedly non-PC place, especially back then) has almost ruined it for me.

That’s unfortunate and I think I’ll give it a miss for that. The 80s were a better time in many ways (as little as I remember of them having been born in the early 80s).

God 4 episode in. boring as fuck! I wouldn't mind but it's like they're soft rebooting season 1. Characters carry over but story doesn't.

And the little PC stuff like the lesbians in the mall kissing openly in the 80's. When did Netflix become Hollywood?

It's really fallen in quality

It was pretty meh. This show would have been so much more memorable had they just left it at season one, which was genuinely great. But I see they are already going to be churning out a 4th.

Seems too much comedy trying to hard to make you laugh as opposed to building up the horror side of it.

I thought season 3 was better overall than season 2 which I felt was a bit disjointed, but obviously it's not as good as season 1, but then that's to be expected as it's always hard to follow up something that good.

Overall I enjoyed season 3, it was decent and enjoyable but plot wise it didn't really move on from season one. They will need to do something different in season 4, they can't just keep retelling the same story over and over again.

Didn't notice much SJW stuff in it, then again I lost interest halfway through and kinda just had it on for background noise. That's been happening a lot with me trying to watch new shows recently. Season one was great, but the novelty has worn off.

Remember this is supposed to be Indiana in the mid-80's. Very conservative, straight-laced place. So what do we have?

  1. Two of the main teen characters form an interracial couple.
  2. One of the new characters, Robin, tells Steve she is a lesbian.
  3. Lezzies kissing openly in the mall.
  4. The small teen kid that was the original victim of the Mindflayer is being outed as gay. Not quite there yet, but the hints are obvious.
  5. The superiority of the female mind is a repeated theme.
Any of that would work in today's LA or NYC or SF or any big city, less so in the small town America even of today, much less over 30 years ago.

The little black girl reminded me of Scrappy Doo. A little shit, thinking itself more important than it was and never fucking shut up.
Yes, that character is a cliche of the blacksploitation comedies of the 70's and 80's - the sassy little black child. Pretty irritating.

I've enjoyed it thus far. About halfway through. Yea there's all the PC stuff, but I don't really get upset about it all that much anymore. That's the world I live in.

That’s not the world I live in at all. That’s the world Hollywood and the news media would like to portray, but that’s not real life, not for me anyway.

Yep same here, people may criticise the supposed liberal agenda though I think it's just a reflection of the world we live in, at least the world I live in.

It's a TV show not a documentary, if they were going to properly reflect 80's small town America then they wouldn't be able to air it because some of the the now out dated ideas would offend people today.
