Your career is pretty much over once you break you orbital bone. Your sinuses and breathing are fucked for good after that

Brook started well like i thought he would but still got stopped way earlier than i thought he would.

Punch resistance completely gone for brook, career well and truly over.
Yeah, there were signs before this his resistance was going, but I thought he would make it to the last third before being stopped.

I also thought he would be pulled out rather than actually TKO'd. Crawford does hit hard at welter, and he's a great finisher.

Good win for Crawford. He might just be the pfp best, he just can't get the fights to prove it.

Taylor - Ramirez winner will be a good fight, but neither has a massive profile. They might also choose to stay at their weight and hope Lopez, Haney, Garcia, and tank are forced to move up soon.

Not sure who else Crawford can realistically get. Don't see Spence happening. I also have a feeling Spence is going to lose to Garcia anyway.

If he bullies Garcia, he'll win. If he tries to box, he'll lose

I just think he looks off since the crash, and Garcia isn't the kind of guy you want to be off against.

He's also been cutting a lot of weight for a long time. That, plus the crash, plus Garcia's heavy counters, make me think he's going to get stopped.

Pretty bold claim for not a lot of evidence, so I might be talking rubbish, but it's just a feeling I have about this one.

Your points are fair, Garcia is definitely not an ideal fight you'd want after a year out of the ring.

Was any of the undercard worth catching up on if I can find it?

Sounds like the Franco fight was controversial.

I hope I'm wrong and Spence is at his best. I will be pulling for Garcia, but I hope he beats the best version of Spence.
I've grown fond of Garcia now. Had super close fights with both Porter and Thurman (possibly could get the nod from Thurman fight) slow has shit, has pop, not Thurman level stopping power, but dialed in his timing to make it work

I watched the ESPN show last night with Kriegel, Ward & Bradley. I thought Sky’s coverage was bad but this gave it a run for its money.

The commentators constantly called Crawford the P4P king as if it’s indisputable when the majority have Canelo top.

Tim Bradley saying the difference between Crawford & other fighters that call themselves elite is that Crawford constantly fights the best when the exact opposite is true. The other 9 fighters on the ring list all have at least one better win than anything Crawford’s done.

Kreigel’s interview with Brook was terrible, literally asked the same question three times about comparing Crawford & Spence when he could’ve asked what Brook’s future plans were & if he’d carry on. Brook should’ve told him where to go.

Then the whole ‘no one wants to fight Crawford’ when Porter’s chasing that fight. Instead of mentioning that they spent the whole time discussing whether Spence would duck him even though Spence hasn’t even had a fight since almost dying in a car crash & no one knows how he’ll be.

TV stations have always been propaganda for home fighters but it’s just getting worse & worse.

At least Kell got in with both Spence and Crawford which is more than they'll ever do with each other.
That's Brook's downfall. He fought GGG for no good reason, broke one orbital bone. Then got in with Spence right after that, and broke the other. Anytime your sinuses are involved in some trauma, it fucks everything else up. You can't breathe, sleep, etc.

He did get paid crazy money for the GGG fight - obviously it was stupid from a boxing point of view but when someone waves that kind of money under your nose it is hard to say no, then go fight another Jo Jo Dan for 300k.

With Brook, my criticism is that his career stagnated to the point that he had to take the GGG fight to make that kind of money, when him and his team should have managed his life and boxing career much better when kell was young and when he was champ.

He got paid 2.3 Million for GGG I am not sure if thats crazy money. By recent standards.

As for the rest Kell Brooks career is a reason one should not have their father acting as a manager. Too many bad management decisions.

It's unfortunate, he's showed that the skill is there, but alas...what's done is done

That's it? Wasn't AB getting paid a mill a fight with randoms?

Yes and AB was getting more than a mill for fighting randoms. Andre Berto was Haymons first fighter he was getting paid a million per fight for randoms.

When Brook fought Shawn Porter. Eddie Hearn gave an interview to the Boxing news. Saying that Kell was getting 250k and how that was a seriously life changing amount.

I dont think American fans realise Brook turned pro in 2004. Well before most of these fighters at Welterweight. His first world level opponent was Shawn Porter 10 years later 2014. His first 10 years of pro career was wasted. Whilst guys who turned pro after him were earning millions.

He had an over protective father as his manager who was looking for the safest root possible to s multi-million paycheck.it did not quite work out like that.
