Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

I don’t think anyone who’s suffered a concussive knockout with the small gloves can ever be considered a ‘young’ fighter any more, time and time again we’ve seen knockouts like that change a fighter forever. Wouldn’t surprise me if it happens to him again and again.

He doesn’t seem like a bad kid, harmless really. Hope he goes and does something else productive with his life.

Why fucking bother though?

One decent film will make him money.

Only being 22 essentially just means he's far more likely to get seriously injured if he carries on.
Yeah, agreed. It'll be a long hard career of getting his face cracked periodically. There are easier routes for him to be successful.

Cosmo is still much more of a beast than SAge will ever be, but make no mistake about it, Cosmo IS SHOT, if you watched his fight against Holzken you saw how past of his best he is... he got destroyed by Holzken.
Sage wil lnever make it to the big boys, this was a life changing knockout... against a old kickboxer (a great one for sure) in a MMA fight.

His Dad is messing his career up I heard he was trying to assist Zahabi in coaching and Faber was saying yesterday that his Dad pushed him into this one. I'll have to watch the interview, but he's been brought along way too fast.

I was just thinking that he would have been better off in Bellator than ONE. He could have had a successful debut then work towards super fights with Pico and MVP. Super fights without fast tracking him to the belt. Just imagine, those would have been huge fights and PPV co main events!

I'll have to watch the interview, but from what I read yesterday Faber knew Cosmo was a beast and it sounded like he didn't want that one for Sage just yet.

In all the talk about Sage’s chin not coping enormously well from that punch, might need to have a closer look at Cosmo, he’s a bad mother fucker.
IVe seen him fight John Wayne Parr twice and win both times. He’s got a stacked resume and worked Nortcitt into that shot in less than a minute.

Any time a guy lands one punch in the fight and it causes the doctors to have to dig 30 pieces of broken skull out of the dude's face, nobody can hate on the KO victim and say that someone else would have walked through it.

Haggis I don’t really understand your point here,
Hate on the KO victim?

Not you, but I have seen many trashing Sage's chin for getting folded by the first punch the guy threw. Which is clearly ridiculous. Might as well hate on Santos for getting KOed by an MVP-kneecap-shaped dent in his skull, or Anderson for not fighting through his injury vs Weidman.

Okay that seems to have died down after Sage's xrays came out, but still. Devastating loss and if the kid wants to continue his career, he needs to take at least a year off. He's got plenty of ways to make money without getting his skull splintered.

He’s saying that Parr is a 9 time Muay Thai world champion and couldn’t handle Alexandre.
The man who bought Muay Thai into the mainstream in Aus, Bob Jones, was a Karate expert and couldn’t understand why people were punching straight through his guard. He knew he had to adapt other Asian arts to compliment his knowledge and crated Zen Do Kai which is a mix of Muay Thai, Kombatan and BJJ among others as a pathway to modern MMA.
IB is saying Sage is too young and inexperienced to have adapted further than his karate roots, he is not hating on him.

I'm not too confident, but I feel Smith wins.
I like Gus, but I hope Smith wins.

Here's another one, Tony vs Cowboy? Another close one, but I feel Cowboy can win even over 3 or 5 rounds.
Fuck this fight. :bart

At least one of them will be knocked out of title contention, at least.

I feel the same. Hopefully the winner gets the next title shot and Conor has to fight for his.

I'd hate to see Conor sit out this whole time, Khabib make a title defenses or two, only to fight Conor, who'd be coming off a layoff, only to get knocked out. Hate to see it happen, but I can just see it now lol.

If Conor ever fights again bet everything you own on him losing.

I think his chin is good and being muscular probably helps, but the way I see it, it was a bad matchup and perfect punch. Sounded like Faber and TAM advised against it because of the long layoff and opponent. Obviously it's Sage's Dad who had the final say.

His defense is far from tight and the KO was similar to the one he got in the amateurs in the sense that he never saw it coming. The picture perfect overhand right is a huge disappointment because he may have had a chance. He got caught, but the but with that type of damage it just changes his whole career.

Anyone think Gaethje is any chance at all to ever wear the belt? I would love to see a guy like that win gold. 3-2 in the UFC and six bonuses in his first five fights (and every one of them well deserved) - as a fight fan, how can you not love this guy.
