The Authentic Official Robert "The Reaper" Whittaker Undefeated, Undisputed Middleweight Champion / General MMA Thread

Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

Can't believe of all people Colby fucking Covington is going off at the UFC. Weird because now Colby has to fight one guy instead of two. Is he that dumb? They did him a favor with the black on black crime.

He's upset because he committed to this schtick and now he can't get what he wants. The UFC is looking at a few moving pieces at a time with this move. They want to dethrone Woodley, or get the most for him. If Woodley beats Usman, and Askren beats Lawler, then Askren vs Marty from Nebraska will be next for them. If Usman wins, then they have gotten the belt off of Woodley, and can play around with Colby, Usman, and either Lawler or Askren. If Woodley does beat him, then he can do a really nice big callout of Colby, and the UFC can get that hypetrain going for what would likely be the highest grossing fight in Woodley's career by a longshot.

Rockhold looked to be in a great mood on MMA Hour yesterday. Said he is walking around at 225 and is tossing people around like never before. Maybe he's found his happy balance of cutting, but not to death. Whitaker and Gastelum setting that example for people. Now if he could stop standing up straight begging for counter shots then he has a chance at 6'3 with amazing grappling.

He is a monster, there is no doubt about that. I expect him to be much better at LHW.

Do we believe there to be a better female fighter (for size) than Valentina? She is a very good athlete, and she does absolutely nothing but travel around the world and training how to better fight. She was so close in contests with the bigger Nunes, and in the second fight, I had her winning. She arguably outstruck someone who just starched and beat down Cyborg. Do we believe any other woman in MMA to be better? Also...I really enjoyed Macfarlane in Hawaii. That was a very cool sub.

Valentina was walking around 136-137 when she was fighting bantam.
She is a flyweight.
But baaed on resume you have to give it to Nunes quite clearly now.

Conor and raging Al jabbing on social media. Would be an interesting buildup.
That's a good fight, I reckon. Buildup would be fire, too. Any time Conor starts with his bullshit, Raging Al can just go "how many rounds with Khabib? I took him the distance, on 24 hours notice. How'd you go?" :yep

Antony Smith going in on Rockhold big time. Just calling him the usual smug arrogant tit we all know he is. Again I can see him doing great at 205. Maybe becomes more durable as well, who knows? Read an interview with Rockhold saying he was getting a tone of injuries and sick in the last few weeks on camp due to how his body was handling the weight cut. Weidman needs to move up as well as there isn't a lot happening outside the top 2/3 at 205
