The Authentic Official Robert "The Reaper" Whittaker Undefeated, Undisputed Middleweight Champion / General MMA Thread

Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

Yeah it was horrible to watch.

Full credit to askren though, he's taking it really well. Time will tell, he'll inevitably get back in there, hopefully against some lighter opposition and we can see where he stands.
Literally. Think he should try to cut to 155, he looked pretty small compared to Lawler last fight, didn't get to see him up close to Masdival when they were both upright but Masvidal fought at lightweight himself.

It's nonsense.

People always fail to understand that there's guys who go 5 rounds and win who take more head trauma than the guy who gets ko'd in the first round.

It looked bad, but he was out of hospital before the main event and has had no ill effects beyond the initial KO.
No way man he got KO'd stuff and I took a knee to the face. Knee joint is the hardest joint in the body and Masvidal got free shots. Sterling also got KO'd stiff and came back so we shall see I guess.

 he'll have to cut an arm off to make 155. I know he looks a little unfit, but he couldn't with all the help in the world. He should fight Maia and retire. Otherwise his career is not ending well.

I, not Vino, have asked you a pretty specific question, BongHead, do you care to answer?
Like I said I know enough. Had 8 amateur fights as a teen and been following boxing and MMA closely for the past twenty years. Trained with Trevor Wittman from 1999-2003 met a handful of pros along the way (Macho Camacho, Morales, Vernon Phillips, JC Candelo, Lonnie Smith, Ron Lyle, Cesar Valenzuela, Cesar Lopez, Touch of Sleep Williamson and others I have forgotten).

It doesn't take an amateur or pro fight to know that the man can't compete at 155. He competed in the 180s and 170s ten years ago as a wrestler. Look at his wrist and ankles. If he can even make the weight he'll be depleted and not himself. Like I said a bonehead idea to suggest he compete at 155.

Post a vid of your fights. Don't be shy.

If Askren really wanted to he could make 145.
