The Authentic Official Robert "The Reaper" Whittaker Undefeated, Undisputed Middleweight Champion / General MMA Thread

Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

Askren competed in the Olympics at 163 pounds, 10 years ago.

Now he's in his mid-30s, he's been walking around at near 200 pounds for the last decade, and he's going to cut an extra 10 pounds off of his old competition weight to fight at 155? :rofl:patsch

Oftentimes with Vino, you legit can't tell if he genuinely is that dumb, or if he just gets a kick out of babbling retard shit to get a rise out of people.

:hat

Like I said I know enough. Had 8 amateur fights as a teen and been following boxing and MMA closely for the past twenty years. Trained with Trevor Wittman from 1999-2003 met a handful of pros along the way (Macho Camacho, Morales, Vernon Phillips, JC Candelo, Lonnie Smith, Ron Lyle, Cesar Valenzuela, Cesar Lopez, Touch of Sleep Williamson and others I have forgotten).

It doesn't take an amateur or pro fight to know that the man can't compete at 155. He competed in the 180s and 170s ten years ago as a wrestler. Look at his wrist and ankles. If he can even make the weight he'll be depleted and not himself. Like I said a bonehead idea to suggest he compete at 155.
“I met a famous boxer once and had some amateur fights, der I’m an expert!” Good one BongDickhead5060, you brain dead fuckwit, stick to pulling cones in your trailer.

Funny how he's gone from having a green belt in TKD when he was 10 to now saying he's also had 8 am fights.

Next he'll be telling us he fought to a bloody draw with Kimbo in his mum's backyard in 2006.

Holloway vs Edgar is only a few weeks away. What's everyone thinking? Holloway got muscled around by Poirier, and still put up one hell of a fight. Not that Poirier is all that much bigger, but how do we see him doing against Edgar? Prime Edgar I think finds the double by round 2 or so and starts to wear out the action. What about in the present? I'd love to see Edgar get the belt one more time...but I also don't want to see Max losing too much cred.

Holloway took a lot of damage and now has to cut to a weight he hasn't in a long time. I give Frankie more of a chance than I would have. Too close to call right now I have to put more thought into it. Perfect storm for an upset though Holloway might get outworked the weight cut will catch up to him sooner or later.

What's with these shit talkers in MMGay? I'm getting swamped with this shit on Twitter and YouTube. Askren/Masvidal has become a meme. By the fucking way, Masvidal legit came from the bottom and is now on top. I remember watching him on backyard YouTube fights. Blew my mind when I read he's the same guy from those Kimbo Slice fights.

How dominant was Askren in the other organisations? I don’t get the retirement calls, is it just the age thing? I’m really intrigued as to how far he can go, and I really like his character, he adds a lot to the division and is legitimately world class in wrestling.

Very. It's just how people react in sports. People have no ability to apply context or understand the variables of fighting. He'll be fine. We'll see what happens after he gets another fight.
