Jaysus Clarence i thought I was extreme :patsch

You honestly saying you'd prefer a visa system for mere travel? Ya nuts man
yes because they will want reciprocity and that means FOM is staying and I dont like that. We are currently trying to register eu migrants here because we dont actually know who is here.

Its no big deal to get a visa and its down to that nation. Such as ukraine who allow visa free travel and are outside the EU.

It's referring to tourists and travellers not workers....I don't think even the extreme right fringe of UKIP want to deter tourists

It's literally fuck all to do with FOM.

They wont get registered though and will overstay. Its fucking pointless to call that an end to FOM. It just isnt.

Freedom of Movement refers to movement of Goods, Capital, Services and LABOUR.

Without a NI number the numbers "overstaying" will be trivial

Are you sure? Pretty sure the local brothel chicks and car washers dont pay NI. Just saying.

I thought the black economy was quite massive here (the EU kindly included it in our GDP for the purposes of increasing contributions) and that most the workers are not gonna be getting NI stamps

So if people intend to work and live here illegally, applying for a Visa before they enter the country is going to stop them how exactly?

Well thats part of the costs that makes it that little bit harder. I know people who have paid illegal agencies in romania hundreds of pounds to find them a job in the uk only for it to be a car wash that pays less than half min wage. I want that to end.

Same with housing and unethical landlords - many of which want paying in sex for rent.

Similar to america we need to clamp down on ruthless employers and slum lords.

.
So you want to introduce an entry visa with a significant cost?

And that's more likely to deter the casual tourist who was heading to the lake district for a weekend or the dude who plans to fall off the radar and stay working illegally for years?

i mean, you're entitled to your opinion, but that is an extreme opinion that will be shared by almost nobody.

Castle Duckula.
Talking about the Lake district. You can't move up there for Chinese folk. They love Beatrix Potter and all that crazy stuff.

But I was told the price of all food was going up, manufacturing will be dead soon, every business is leaving, the police will no longer be able to liaise with foreign police and British membership of the EU was the only thing preventing WW3???
Nissan withdrawing plans to make the X Trail in Sunderland.

Oh and....

Japanese companies who are/look like they are going to move their European HQ out of the UK because of Brexit - mostly if they have a large proportion of sales to EU, easier to invoice from within EU after Brexit. Others will remain/are already run on management fees only 1/

My January update on what the biggest Japanese companies in the UK have been doing to prepare for Brexit. Short version: no job losses, but many legal changes downgrading UK status + shift of investment capital out of the UK. Longer version - see following thread 1/
At least my green beans will be cheaper eh?

all these things get cheaper without the common external tariff

He said: "Under WTO rules, we'd have to apply tariffs. These are extraordinary at times.

"The salad I buy has a tariff of 10%. We reckon every 1% of trade tariff will cost us £10-15million. Multiply that by 20 and you're looking at £200-300m in tariffs.

"You've then got the impact of weakening exchange rates. During the referendum, the exchange rate tanked and we took massive hits internally. We passed some on to the consumer, but we absorbed some. But there's no way we'd be able to absorb any more.

"For every 1% weakening - and it dropped 18% last time - it's going to affect our cost of goods by 0.8%. So if it drops by 10%, you're looking at a 10% cost increase.

"You've then got the problem of availability - and this is a shocker.

"Fruit and vegetables are the fourth priority for the government, so we've been told we will be given 25% availability of our lorries to pass through Dover ports. So from what we have now, we have to quarter what we take in from the EU. That's before we get the gridlock of the remaining 25%.

"We can get them from countries outside the EU, but these all have trade deals with the EU on an Anything But Arms basis. We won't have that."

John had one more concern - this is the worst possible time for these problems. He added: "In April and May, it's when British stocks run out and the British harvest hasn't started. We import almost everything for these two months. It couldn't be worse timing.

"All our stocks of onions, potatoes, carrots, they can run out. So we have to import everything."

GREAT NEWS GUYS.

Nissan said: "The company has decided to optimise its investments in Europe by consolidating X-Trail production in Kyushu, the production hub for this global model.

"While we have taken this decision for business reasons, the continued uncertainty around the UK's future relationship with the EU is not helping companies like ours to plan for the future."
Everyone is at it with 'Project Fear', shameless.
