I see people still pushing for a second referendum and Remain.

Question I would like answering (since I cant post on the Guardian anymore) Is why would the EU allow us back in? The rest of the EU seems pretty keen on the idea of a United States of Europe, something the UK is never going to be up for, so why would the EU let the UK back in to scupper those plans?

It's not up to them if we decide to stay. We're allowed, by law to make that decision unilaterally.

I thought once we signed article 50 that we effectively cancelled our membership?

We can revoke A50 at any point and go back to being part of the EU. It was decided by the EU last year.
Come to think of it I remember that. Wonder why? They need our money, they just really nice somewhere in between?

Saw that...weird...also pretty irrelevant...as yolo says, its way too late in the game now anyway.

Really feels like both parties are about to fracture... a brexit bonus as far as I'm concerned.

Can't see any outcome now that keeps the tory party intact....head for no deal and lose the moderates/get a deal through on labour votes and lose the ERG

Labour MP's openly intimating a third party now...this deselection attempt at Luciana Berger aint gonna help either....could they have picked a more jewish looking MP to target? :rofl

Agreed on all points, hopefully its the start of a political revolution here, we certainly are overdue one.

I saw that before regarding Berger, dumb on so many levels.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear...

Even a German national bank is now saying how disastrous a no deal Brexit would be.....

And that Germany's factory orders are down 7%!! In one year!!!!!

Of course NOBODY in the spineless finger-in-the-cookie-jar UK political elite will acknowledge it let alone use it as leverage

Remainers will ignore this.

Brexiteers knew this.

What a missed opportunity. Sad and depressing. In a game of political poker we held all the cards and bluffed away our tokens due to pussyness.

Sad sad. And pathetic. Germany is the EUs no.1 contributer. Guess who's no. 2? The UK.

The EU cannot afford the loss of either. And 100% cannot afford a recession leading Germany. No fucking way!!!!!!

Someone let me know if this appears on the BBC. I will print and frame if for posterity.

It's so depressing parliament has taken no deal off the table. We could have had it all right now.
