What's the thought in Scotland about Gerrard? Is he getting plaudits for his managerial style?
United look good at the moment, I'm pleased that they're doing so well in the league. They played well last night and the game against Liverpool will be massive, though hopefully United can avoid a defeat in it. I'm liking what Solskjaer has done this season, he's done a very underrated job.
It's hard to assess because success in the old firm is pretty much a binary thing. You win the league or you don't.
He conducts himself well, the team have improved under him, play decent football, are well drilled, and are looking really good to take the title after a record start.
The results in Europe over the past couple of seasons have been good, and there have been some good bargain transfer purchases. (not sure about who is all involved in transfer decisions though).
But, he hasn't won anything yet, and the past couple of years the team collapsed late in the season.
You could also say he has been helped this year by Celtic having Lennon as manager. It's certainly an easier job than beating Rodgers.
However, he has had a very difficult task. Celtic had more money, a better squad, momentum, and confidence before he took over.
I think he's done well, and it's a good apprenticeship for the epl.
