Christ joint sixth what a joke of a club. How do you go from champions to this shit show?
This is clearly City’s era when we’ve cleaned up this year three titles in four seasons is utter dominance in the modern era.

Liverpool will be fine, imo. They’ve just had some ridiculous injuries.

Soucek has such a good mentality. I think it's underestimated how big that impact is on teammates and fans, when you have a player with that mindset. It lifts everyone up and it's a tangible asset to a team.

The worrying thing about Liverpool has been the lack of effort in some games. I thought their performance against Leipzig was impressive but how can they then turn up to play Everton and look so lethargic? It just feels like they have nothing to play for, which is somewhat true but you'd expect them to have a bit more pride than that considering they're defending champions.

I think they'll be fine, although I do think they need help in the transfer window, but it's possible that this side has burnt out. Their form after lockdown last year was nowhere near as impressive as it was before lockdown. If you had the second half of the season as it's own league, Liverpool would have finished 3rd and it's where they lost most of their games, conceded most of their goals, stopped scoring as they were previously etc.. So I do think that there's more to this than it just being about injuries, this has been ongoing since the second half of last season.

They need to bring in some new players, just to add depth. When you look at how often the front three have played, it's remarkable, they just seem to constantly be in the team whether it's the Premier League twice a week, in Europe, the FA Cup etc.. If they are burnt out, it'd be no surprise.

NL resigns wonder who the next manager will be hopefully Rafa .
Hopefully it's not Eddie Howe, he seems like the best available option to get the England job after Southgate goes. It's difficult to rate Howe because he did a brilliant job with Bournemouth but hasn't worked with quality players. England have a ton of quality at the moment though and that squad needs someone like Howe in charge who can hopefully play decent attacking football.

When you think about England though, if someone had told you 10 years ago that Gareth Southgate and Aidy Boothroyd would be managing two talented teams, they'd have send you packing to a mental ward. Both are useless managers who shouldn't be anywhere near the England or England U21 teams, it's unbelievable. It just goes to show how the FA care far more about having a pushover in charge rather than someone who could potentially win a tournament.

the job's been a joke for years now tbh.

over the last 25 years we've had 2 good managers, both were let go for non football reasons ffs.

Yeah, that's true. Harry Redknapp should have been given the job at some point, the style of football he was bringing to Spurs years ago would have been brilliant to see with the squads England had back then.

def he deserved a chance, i doubt giving him one of svens years would have hurt anything.

i'm still mad about the allardyce stuff, what a shit show.

Yeah I know Allardyce has his detractors but he still deserved a chance. His style was at least pragmatic enough to win big games, even if it wouldn't mean dominating lesser teams.

Southgate is just an awful manager. Everyone loved the World Cup run a couple of years ago, but the reality was, the best team we beat was Colombia on penalties, and we lost three games to the best two teams we faced. We were just incredibly lucky that the rest of the tournament was unusual and we had a good draw but who did we beat? Nobody.
