  • CHB will be closing down as of 31st July 2021. It's been a brilliant experience to run the website for the past 9 years, however it's time for me to move onto different projects. Thanks to every single person involved, from staff, former staff, posters old and current. All support means more than anyone knows. Thanks for your understanding.

Who will win the 2019/20 PL??

C'mon Celtic announce Howe roumor is with Bournmoths season over it's going to be soon .

Eddie Howe has reportedly told Celtic to make their move for three Bournemouth staff, after meeting with the club in the last 24 hours.
The appointment of the Englishman appears to be edging ever closer, as he looks to make up his backroom staff by bringing in Stephen Purches, Simon Weatherstone and Richard Hughes.

Only caught the second half but what a shit show. Man City looked like England at their worst, all sideways and backpassing (minus the decent set pieces), and Chelsea stinking the joint out on the counter. Maybe I don't watch enough club games these days, but Man City were shocking, too afraid to run at players or have a pop from distance and looked like they were doing their worst impression of Arsenal.

Grats to Chelsea and Tuchel I guess, but Pep dropped an unholy stinking turd in a CL final and got everything wrong.

Pretty much this. I almost never watch European football or Internationals but made an exception tonight as it was All-English. I didn't keep my attention on it for long, though, for mainly the reasons you mention.

Not sure if I'll watch any of the upcoming Euros either as Southgate is such a cunt who will probably fuck up with one of the strongest available teams in recent history. Assuming he selects the best squad available and i'm far from convinced he's competent enough to even do that.

It's been like this for England for the past 20 years or so. They look okay in qualifying, but as soon as they run up against a parked bus in tournaments, it's just 99% passing sideways and backwards. That WC semi run was the same old story, except we were good at set pieces which made a difference, until we ran into a good team. I would rather see us lose playing good football and letting creative players do their thing, than get to a semi off the back of playing backwards and sideways.

I would be spitting blood if I supported Man City tbh, at least losing possession through wasted shots from distance or running at them might have messed up Chelsea's formation when they got possession, but Man City just allowed Chelsea to keep it tight and on their terms. Pep dropped a huge bollock tonight, probably the worst managerial decisions I've ever seen in a major final. If there's one thing that's guaranteed not to claw back a 0-1 deficit, it's constantly passing backwards ffs.

As for the Euro's, last time in the WC I was already not giving a shit about England because we play horribly. As the tournament went on I got more hyped, but I was always aware that we are awful to watch, and Southgate is the peak of this whole 'possession is everything' bullshit. I thought Pep knew better.

And as you say, you can talk about Southgate picking his 'best' squad and all that, but what good is it picking our most creative players and then drilling it into them that they must not lose the ball under any circumstances? There are probably sunday league players that could manage that.

Pep messed up not picking fernandinho, if he played him along with gundagan on the double pivot and not Bernardo, it would have allowed walker to bomb forward, and gundagan to move up the pitch, it was obvious before kick off he fucked it up

Warde prowse should be in the squad

Set pieces can win you tournaments, hear free kick taker from all positions and excellent corner taker

That's a good team, I wouldn't change much about it, maybe Grealish or Sancho for Sterling. I've got a feeling Southgate will pick Rashford in every game, which would be very underwhelming considering how awful he was at the end of the season.

Ben White over warde prowse

Very defensive by Southgate

Dissapointed with that

Good player white, but squad isn't balanced.
