Christian televangelist: ‘Mitch McConnell authorized me to take control of demons working against Brett Kavanaugh’

In the wake of Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, the cult of pro-Trump Christianity is declaring victory, and nowhere is it more apparent than on the Jim Bakker Show.

Speaking to host and apocalyptic doomsday prepper Jim Bakker, televangelist Billye Brim wanted some of the credit for the Kavanaugh victory, and she revealed that some D.C. Republicans sought her divine connection to the Almighty.

In a video clip flagged by Right Wing Watch, Brim talked about how during the run-up to Kavanaugh’s confirmation, she was in D.C. to lead a prayer effort against any “demons” that were trying to take down President Trump’s SCOTUS pick.

“We were the guests of Senator Grassley and Senator McConnell,” Brim said, adding that she and her entourage were given “little secret passes” to the House floor.

“They put us in a holding room and both of those senators came out and Sen. Grassley said to us just before he left the room, he said, ‘Now, I believe in the power of prayer.’ He said, ‘I know there are a lot of you in this room that do to.’ He said, ‘Don’t pay a lot of attention to what’s going on the floor, you keep your voices lifted to heaven,’” Brim said.

According to Brim, she acted because she had just been “given the authority” to pray by a U.S. senator.

“Now that is someone in authority giving us authority to pray,” she said.

“They were the two senators most active in this whole thing—Grassley and McConnell—they’re the two that had the authority, I would say, and they passed it over to us,” she continued. “And oh my goodness, we’re sitting up there and I had my little hankie, looking down at the senators and my mouth is moving — I’m taking authority, I’m telling that devil what he can’t do. I’m taking authority over those demons because the young people down there, and the leaders, were definitely affected by demons.”

Bakker ate it up.
“I appreciate what you did,” he responded.

how do people get like this?

stupid or mentally ill?

how can so many others BELIEVE this shit?
I think stupidity is to blame for most of that kind of shit, and legitimate mental illness makes up a tiny sliver of the overall epidemic.

Remember when we were kids, and we'd make up all kinds of nonsensical explanations for things we didn't understand? The creepy-looking home of a reclusive neighbor suddenly became the haunted house of a murderer in our young minds, or a peculiar spot on the ground suddenly became the site of buried treasure...it's much the same with these imbeciles, except they can't cite youth and lack of education and life experience to justify their ignorance. They must have grown up extremely sheltered, too, I'd guess.

I dont know man.....................I think we,as a society, may hesitate to stigmatize folks with the 'mental illness' tag even when they may clearly fall into that catagory because some forms of insanity are more acceptable than others.............and it would be 'rude' to suggest someone who is so out of touch with reality is somehow ill because................fuck if I know.............
