I still don't know why Toronto tradwd Valencunas dor Gasol. Jonas is the a much better player at this point. Gasol can't hope to match Jonas' scoring and rebounding, but I'm thinking Jonas wanted more minutes, as he was sharing the center spot with Serge.

Veteran postseason presence and rim protection? I don't know, but he's looking pretty shot out there right now.

He looks like he needs backup minutes. Meanwhile Jonas is a 20/12 guy for Memphis. Val was actually playing really well for Toronto before he got hurt and traded. The guy is just entering his prime. Some guys just come into their own later, like him and Vucevic. The Raps made a big mistake.

They weren't interested in seeing Jonas' prime, they were interested in trying to win right now, with Kawhi Leonard still on the roster.

I know what they were thinking. Gasol is a better defender and passer, and a veteran, but Jonas is still the better player. Memphis is actiually qinning gams with him.

Gasols a much better match up to Embiid than Valanciunas would be a large part of it I think

Porzingis accused of rape, weird thing is it apparently happened the night he tore his ACL. Id have thought a big sports star like that would be in hospital?

Have you seen the way Valencunias has been playing this season? He was better when he was getting 25 minutes a game in a bench role. Now he's playing like an all-star. Ujiri fucked up letting him go. He just put up 34/20/5 with 2 blocks and 2 steals. Memphis is a great place for big men.

Yeah hes good and hes gonna put up big stats for a team giving him the ball in the post all the time but I dont think that was the way for Toronto to win the playoffs this year

like barring something weird happening theyre playing the 76ers in round 2 - I dont think posting up valanciunas against embiid is gonna be a winning strategy plus embiids going to murder him on the other end, giving kawhi et al the ball on offense and having gasol defend embiid might be

He's doing better defensively. Serge qas the one doing the defending the paint, and at this stage in his career, Gasol is not a great defender either. He's got thw name but not the game anymore.

Between threatning to fuck up those Jazz fans, the 20/20/20 tribute to Nip and now finally getting Zaza's ass back for his bullshit over the last few years, if not MVP, the NBA need to give Russ atleast the sportsmanship award
