Maybe he didn't want to stay in GS? Maybe he wanted to go somewhere else, and recruit another star player to go with him? Who is going to follow KD now, wait around for a year, and pray that he comes back the same player that he was before the injury?

… Do you know the statistics regarding a torn achilles? And this is his plant leg, where he gets all of his explosion from.

There is a change... a HUGE chance... that he will never be Kevin Durant again, and everyone around the league knows it.
Yeah how would someone not know that tearing an achilles isnt good? When you were talking about his free agency I assumed you meant his money not his on court success, definitely agree that a terrible achilles injury will affect his basketball success.

If you can admit that he won't be the same anymore, you may as well admit that anyone who pays him the max is a fool...

The Warriors owe him the max because of how badly they screwed him over, but what about the rest of the league? It's a huge assumption to think that someone as savvy as Jerry West out in LA pays him that type of salary. Maybe one of the New York teams, but who is going to follow him there and wait for him to return as a fraction of his former self? Without his health, Kevin Durant can no longer dictate his future. He held the entire balance of power in his hands up until last night, and now he is truly powerless.

This is as close to a tragedy as you can have from a pure sports perspective.

As much as I dislike Durant because of the fact he went to Golden State I do agree this sucks. I feel bad for the guy and wanted to see what he could do with the Knicks.

I still think there are going to be a lot of teams trying to get him this summer including the Knicks. Someone might get rewarded big time for taking the chance.

Didn't a Doctor Okay his return and say he is not in danger of getting a more series injury
Yep. Turns out that the only criteria they used for him to return was one practice, in which he actually struggled in. Then I go and do a little research and Steve Kerr is talking about Durant only needing one practice nine days ago.

Again, he doomed himself by stepping onto the practice court. Once he did, they were going to bend the very limits of rationalization to convince him that he could play and not ruin himself. They were already planning for his return, which is why they kept creating false timetables instead of just ruling him out indefinitely. Push come to shove, they knew that Kevin would limp out there if they needed him.

All of those emotions you see now? That is pure, unadulterated GUILT.

Max from GS.
Max from New York Knicks.
Max from Brooklyn.

And a few other terrible teams that he never had any interest in playing for.

But you are missing the point... or evading it, perhaps.
The point that this awful injury is going to affect his basketball success?

Or the blaming it on GS, yeah theyre at fault but Durants an adult so like lets not take all responsibility out his hands.

Moreso the point that we have to consider who is actually going to follow him wherever he is going. Is Kyrie waiting two years for him, for example?

I think that his trajectory changes from a guy that can get you 30 a game for the next five years and then slowly wind down, to a guy that can get you 22-23 a game for three years and then fall off of a cliff. All-Star, but no longer all-time. That calf is never the same after the achilles goes. It just isn't. You played ball, you know what it is.

I'm hoping Drake jinxes the Raps. First it was Joshua, then Rolls, now possibly the Raptors. Warriors in 7. Can't let these chumps be champs. Actually I like Kawhi and Toronto but they got one free game with everyone on the Dubs was injured. No more giveaways. You gotta earn this shit. Can someone trade Cousins before the next game.

Cousins helped extend that lead after KD went down and the Raptors played from behind all night because of it. He is a huge key to the Warriors success. A wild card, but a key.

Warriors got a free championship when Kyrie and Love were injured.

Yeah? Why didn’t Paul do shit this year then? Durant went out and they should have had a free trip to the finals, right?
Houston was up 3-2 when Paul went out and he was killing them. he had the look like he was not going to be denied. This year was a different story.
