Amir Khan was interviewed on Chris Evans' Virgin breakfast show this morning, about the Crawford fight, from LA where he's in camp. He didn't say much (the weather's lovely, apparently) but did have to open with an apology - apparently he was due to be on the show yesterday, but got his time zones mixed up and missed it. Well, it made me chuckle.
It's just made me chuckle and I wasn't even listening to the show!!!

Knowing Khan, I was expecting something more serious when it came to an apology.

Then again, it is Khan so this also seems fitting.

One guy who is on my radar at the moment is former amateur standout and current pro prospect Eric Donovan, who's a late entry into the pro game. He's currently 9-0 as a pro, and although he's getting up there at the age of 33, he was always one of the most naturally talented guys on the Irish team in the noughties. He won the Irish featherweight title this weekend past and he looked great doing so. Here's a very interesting interview with him:

Ive always found that boxers always have some of the more fascinating life stories, not least because its a working class sport and they tread a path that many athletes in other sports could not relate to. Donovan's a very eloquent guy, with a philosophical outlook on life and I found this interview a great watch. Ill definitely be rooting for him in the future.
What a top guy Donovan is and I really hope his dream of winning the European comes true.

Could you post here when his next fight gets made please.

Will do mate, I'll be following his career closely from now on. Wasnt expecting much when I clicked on the video, but Donovans a good interview isnt he? No bullshit or ego, just telling his story like it is.

Thanks :good That was the best interview I've seen in a long time, as you say there's no ego with him and he's so open and honest. I can see why he does a lot of public speaking as he's a great speaker who draws you in.

It's a great fight. As I had a bit of money on Maidana to get the stoppage, I'm still not quite sure how I didn't cash out when he had Khan going in the 10th round! But credit to Khan; it'll likely go down as his most iconic win.

And with Maidana coming back, I wouldn't be too surprised if they did fight again -- albeit a few years too late (which is normally the case with boxing).
