I'm happy to go up to 160 that's the best I can do.

I reckon Dale will do a David Haye and complain about toes.

The builder who has built my house( and the 30 other houses in the development) are offering a range of extras that you can pay for , for a fee.

Anyway, I've decided to go for a few of the extras which include the installation of a living room unitwith an inbuilt elec fire, some installed mirrors, bathroom screens etc..

The builder quoted me a price for these as 2800 ex VAT. With VAT being 23%, that brings the total up to around 3500.

So I ask the builder about payment and he calls me there and says, if you want to be invoiced then I will have to pay the full whack inc VAT. However, if I wanna pay cash, it's the 2900.

Now, I am aware this is a bit dodge, but it benefits both of us. I'm just trying to think of ways that I might get screwed over. I will only be paying after installation too, as agreed.

Thoughts?

Will any warranty on the work be invalidated?

That's the only thing I can think of.

I'd have to check the warranty situation, but either way it's minimal stuff. Some joinery work, some mirrors and a shower screen. If it's something that could potentially be a problem I'll spot it upon installation. The electric fire is the only thing, but the manufacturers warranty will come with that regardless, and again, it's an electric fire,it's not some crazy complex thing.

Currently dwelling in a big old fashioned guest house property (nicer than it sounds tbf). About 6 rooms available to rent. Currently 3 in occupancy. Inc the owner (who's here all day), that make 4 women over the age of 55. Fucking insufferable listening to them. One's a Yank too, who is incapable of holding any coherent thought in her noggin without voicing it, in her grating Yank accent, mollycoddles the two dogs here and talks to them as if they are Special Needs toddlers. "oh i love you so so so so so so so so much. Oh yes i do i do i do i do. You're my little pal!!! Oh yes you are' etc etc etc...

They are all decamped in the kitchen having another one of their post-menopausal mother's meetings. I'm hank-marvin, but can't face going down there and cooking and eating til they've fucked off.

Seriously it's fucking insufferable.
