Although I'll feel satisfaction when I see that... It's not the kind of politics I want my candidate playing. It's the same bullshit Trump did and I want to be on board with a high-road candidate.

Exactly what I was about to say. I feel like Dems should take the high road but right now, we're not. We're on some "they did it so let's do it too shit." Let's be better than the dumb fucks.

Now this is probably a pretty wild hypothetical but I'm just curious how it could play out in the strange case something like this could happen.....

So that Whitaker bloke is Trumps appointee and Trump ignored the senate approved line of people heir to the AG throne. I don't know a lot at all about him but Whitaker is obviously a dodgy cunt himself.. All his refusals to answer question sand stuff at that congress hearing thing orwhatver it was.. added on top of Trumps strange play to put him in the position he is in.

Soooo.... what if Mueller came across some shady shit that was done there. Something was illegal and he needs to subpoena him Whitaker.. Or do something to force him to answer questions without the ducking and dodging.

How does that work? Is it in anyway a possibility that could come about? Would Whitaker just fire Mueller or shut the investigation down?

That could be waaay into the realms of impossible but I was just listening to some clips of that trial and Whitaker obviously seems to be hiding something just on how he refused to talk openly and the constant play on the 5 minute stuff.

So I guess basically what I'm saying, is there anyone that can force him to talk and could hold him to perjury standards. Is it something that should be done?

ya,he could be subpoenaed and a refusal to comply, akin to what he did in his congressional appearance, could lead to charges of contempt or perjury or whatever and yes, theoretically,he could fire Mueller as acting AG I believe

however,it would be political suicide at this point to fire Mueller methinks.............a more clear instance of obstruction would be hard to think of and I dont think either party would stand for it.............

and yes,Whitaker leaves an obvious trail of slime wherever he goes................

Sounds like bullshit to me. The taxes are lower now on the middle class.https://smartasset.com/taxes/trump-tax-brackets
Somehow I'm not surprised by this. It was a corporate tax cut.

I think its people not understanding whats going on.................they may well have paid less out of each check, thus resulting in a lower refund..............but since americans use the refund as a 'savings account' they already spent whatever they may have got per week..........a few bucks..........and now somehow think they are ALSO going to get the same sized refund.........

see?

its a mess and is going to take some time to really see what the net impact is............between the actual legal changes and the way its been implemented........

it WAS a cut,in large, for the wealthy.............be interesting to see if the average american saves much,if anything.................

Why do you keep posting this article? Do you think that correcting "late term" with "full term" changes the act of killing 39 week old babies? Do you not think that that doctor might have an interest in defending such an act?
I'm not debating reproductive rights with you buddy. There was a lot more in that post than the abortion article. Have you anything to say to any of that?

Russian State TV Thanks Republican Senators For Voting To Lift Sanctions

Russian news program “60 минут” (60 Minutes) thanked the Republicans who voted in favor of oligarch Oleg Deripaska.
An image recently popped up on social media appearing to show a Russian news show thanking several prominent Republican lawmakers for voting to lift sanctions against Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska’s companies last month — and according to a Snopes investigation, the assertion is true.
The Russian “news program “60 минут” (60 Minutes) aired on Channel 1 Russia on 17 January 2019” featured a graphic originally used on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show that shows the 8 Republican legislators — Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Mitt Romney (R-Utah), John Cornyn (R-TX), Richard Burr (R-NC), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Ron Johnson (R-WI), and John Thune (R-SD) — who voted against Democrats’ attempt to keep the sanctions in place.

Julia Davis, an investigative journalist and Russian media analyst, was one of the first to notice Maddow’s graphic being featured on Russian State TV. Davis shared this screenshot on Twitter along with a brief message explaining its context.
Davis wrote: “#Russia’s state TV reports that for the first time since 2014, the US is lifting sanctions from Russian companies [#Deripaska’s Rusal et al.] The host laughs out loud about the Democrats not getting enough votes to block the effort, expresses hope that this is just the beginning.”
Snopes said the host does in fact “thank” the Republican lawmakers for the “gift” they gave to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A rough translation of the video via Google shows that the host says at one point: “Thank all these people who have always been known for their irreconcilable attitude towards Russia. Thank them all, for today they voted and made big economic gift to the government of Putin.”
Snopes’ article includes video of the relevant portion of the Russian news segment, as well as the original video and transcript of Maddow’s show discussing the Republican vote, which includes the image of the lawmakers.
