He should have gotten this done when he had the numbers.

Although it could have been tactical to wait it out and use this to look like he's standing up to the Dems. Either way it's a pure shitshow.

So..... what was the point of this much-ballyhooed live primetime address to the nation?

Did he announce any new policies, break any news or advance any new arguments?

Or did he just get up there and tell a bunch of lies and then go back upstairs to sulk by himself, with his wife who can't stand him nowhere to be found?

:hat

well, tbh the speech itself went better than I thought it might

he clearly had a script and stuck to it...............it was a shit script and a giant appeal to emotion with no substance but he managed to not go off the rails and stay with it

the dems counter was better but also drifted into an appeal to emotion...............

Unredacted Paul Manafort filing hints at collusion

Lawyers working for former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort accidentally revealed on Tuesday the clearest public evidence of coordination between the campaign and Russians, adding new details to the murky mosaic of potential collusion in 2016 -- including sharing polling data with an alleged Russian operative.

The explosive new information was buried in a court filing from Manafort's lawyers, though the portions about his contacts with a shadowy Russian during the campaign were meant to be redacted.

But the document was fully searchable, even the blacked-out parts, revealing fresh details about the core of the ongoing investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller.

Here's a breakdown of the latest disclosures and how they might fit into the existing puzzle.

Relationship with Kilimnik

Close watchers of the investigation have been intrigued by the still-developing role of Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian political consultant who worked closely with Manafort in Ukraine. They helped Moscow-friendly politicians get elected and hold onto power for nearly a decade.

Manafort and Kilimnik stayed in touch after their Ukrainian clients were ousted in 2014. They met twice in the United States during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to their own public statements. News reports have detailed their phone calls and emails in 2016, including one exchange where Manafort tried to use Kilimnik to reach a prominent Russian oligarch.

But Tuesday's filing revealed they had a third meeting, this time in the Spanish capital of Madrid. One redacted portion quoted Mueller's team: "After being told that Mr. Kilimnik had traveled to Madrid on the same day that Mr. Manafort was in Madrid, Mr. Manafort 'acknowledged' that he and Mr. Kilimnik met while they were both in Madrid." A spokesman for Manafort sought to clarify the filing in a statement Tuesday night, saying that the third meeting happened in early 2017, after the election.

The growing list of Manafort-Kilimnik contacts could be relevant to the collusion question because, according to previous court filings from Mueller, the FBI has assessed that Kilimnik "has ties to a Russian intelligence service and had such ties in 2016."

Many of their contacts happened while the Russian government was aggressively meddling in the US election. Court filings said Kilimnik was affiliated with the GRU, the Russian military intelligence agency that was responsible for hacking Democratic targets and orchestrating the WikiLeaks releases.

CNN reported in February 2017 that Manafort was among a handful of senior Trump advisers who were in constant communication with suspected Russian operatives during the campaign. At the time, Manafort told CNN in a statement, "that is 100% not true, at least as far as me."

His incompetence on this particular matter is incredible really.

He has completely backed himself into a corner and given all the power to the Dems. As long as the Dems don't blink Trump has literally no out here.

Unbelievably shocking negotiating. Even funnier given that this is from a guy who had someone write a book on his behalf called 'The Art Of The Deal'

To be fair, that was a pretty good deal he made for that book. Earning millions to have someone write a book about how to make deals, pretending to be written by a guy who can barely read, whose daddy gave him "a small gift" of $400 million and he still went bankrupt six times.

Let's be fair, he probably had fuck all to do with it really...someone probably approached his people and whatnot. I'm pretty certain Trump has never read as ingle book in his entire life. Literally not one single book, front to back. I'd put money on that.

Trump orders FEMA to send 'no more money' to California for forest fires in misspelled tweet

The US government owns and manages 57 per cent of California's forest land. The State of California does the same for just 3 per cent

Donald Trump says he has ordered the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to stop sending money to the State of California to help the state deal with deadly forest fires "unless they get their act together" — just a day after the governors of California, Washington, and Oregon requested more federal funding to clean up forests.

Mr Trump claimed in a tweet that California's mismanagement of forests has led to dangerous situations in which wild fires can quickly build into massive and unwieldy blazes, in an apparently reference to last year's deadly Camp Fire in the state.

"Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest fires that, with proper Forrest Management, would never happen", Mr Trump wrote in a tweet that was later replaced with one spelling "forest" correctly.

He continued: "Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!"

In response, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi — who represents a California congressional district — said that Mr Trump's tweets are an insult to the people who died last year during the fires.

The president's "threat insults the memory of scores of Americans who perished in wildfires last year & thousands more who lost their homes," Ms Pelosi said, before calling on the Republican minority leader in the House — a fellow Californian— to denounce the president's remarks. Representative Kevin McCarthy "must join me to condemn & call on POTUS to reassure millions in CA that our govt will be there for them in their time of need".

California Governor Gavin Newsom shot back at the president to say that California residents should not be the victims of partisan politics in Washington.

how is this not obvious to all that its a political attack on California for not supporting him and,in fact, working against him in many ways?

he is going to try and punish californians for the mistake of electing Nancy P and a host of other dems..................

petty little orange boy throwing a fucking fit

the word on the street is that trump flipped his fucking combover when the news hit...............stomped around cursing for hours while boo hooing about how nobody is 'loyal' anymore.............

What street is that? Sesame Street?

You clowns are in for another shock. Campaign Finance violations have limits and one such is indictment of a sitting president. The other is the jury being convinced that it was to mask the payments from the campaign. You, Pelosi, Schumer and all the other dipshits are a hilariously inept bunch.

Lastly Cohen paying a couple whores and collusion with Russia are very extreme leaps I'm not confident you can make. I don't even think Muller is that thirsty.
