The Witcher on Netflix. Anyone planning on watching?

Mostly original audio nowadays incl. The Witcher, but it is good in Hungarian as well. I watched everything dubbed obviously growing up on TV, then went original audio once internet allowed it. But I'm always impressed how quality Hungarian dubbing is, having all the film and theater talent do it helps.

Hungarians also use 2-3 times as many words as an average English speaking person (incl. hundreds of curse words), so Scorsese, Ritchie, Sopranos, South Park etc. particularly shine. Marvel movies step up a notch dubbed and I remember from my childhood that the entire 100% runtime of The Flintstones got converted into rhymes upon dubbing. Good times!
Ah yeah it's a weird complex language, it's you and the finns... I mean us... Or do I?

I really enjoyed it. I thought the first few episodes captured the way quests play out in the games really well. Its a bit chaotic and hard to keep track off though and it slows down a bit in the second half of the season.
Cavill is brilliant as Geralt. Hope this goes from strength to strength

@SwollenGoat why haven't we gotten your review yet? If you haven't watched it, then your country ass now has something worthwhile to do today. If you say you didn't like it, you're banned forever @Jay and you shall be sexually tortured by male Trump supporters for all of time.

Give your honest review...

Play the third game.

And play as much gwent as you can, even though you don't have to play a single hand for the entire game. But Gwent is the shit. :thumbsup

So get it. It's some of the best storytelling with complex and interesting characters, lore and world building in all of gaming history. And you're in charge of how much of a prick Geralt is.

Watch a couple of reviews on YouTube. It's a time investment, I won't lie. But it's a compelling world, and the quests are great for layered storytelling leading to genuinely difficult choices. It's not "watch a cutscene, then press X to be an angel or press Y to be a psychopath." Several of the sidequests, I had to pause the game to really think my decision over as to how to resolve the quest, and which option was the "right" call in-universe. The Bloody Baron questline comes to mind. At first it seems very straightforward, but then it becomes more and more nuanced until at the end, you genuinely don't know what the morally "correct" option is, or who to help or if your action will even help them at all. But in a good way.

Ain't nobody got time for any of that. I dont think I even read history anymore. Of it ain't Dan Carlin, the chances of me getting into a history topic are pretty slim. Not that it's not a fascinating topic, just seems an odd way to spend hours and hours of my life when I can be reading about magic and tavern wenches, the real important shit

As this discussion has moved from the show to the game I need to ask you guys....how long does that fucking introductory bullshit sequence go on for? I started that rubbish and just put the game down. I can't stand drawn out semi interactive game intros......
