As this discussion has decided from the show to the game I need to ask you guys....how long does that fucking introductory bullshit sequence go on for? I started that rubbish and just put the game down. I can't stand drawn out semi interactive game intros......
The game is probably not for you.

It's not going to hold your hand like RDR2 did, that's for sure. :thumbsup

2 episodes in and finding it poorly written. With weird weird pacing and patchy acting. It's more Legendary Adventures of Hercules than Game of Thrones.

I don't hate it however, and I like the source material/genre, so I will stick with it.

I don't watch much TV anyway, and it's always good to have something that you can pick up and drop depending on the time you have.

Castle Duckula.
Second episode and and so far less than impressed. Second episode was especially poor. Really bad dialogue, some of the acting is woeful and nothing interesting happened at all. Hope it improves but in no rush to watch the next episode.

Thought the exact same thing. Like a poorly written episode of Xena with no wit or warmth or interesting.

In got all the characters had flaws etc.. This geralt guy is a Saint a good guy, saves the day every time.
Definitely not. The shit he pulled on Yennefer alone was fucked up. Also, this isn't got. This is more Middle Earth flipped on its head. Not to mention, the killing in blaviken wasn't exactly a clear cut good guy move

I enjoyed it, for what it's worth... Yenns character was great, wasn't really feeling Ciri and Superman did a really good job at portraying himself Geralt.

I'm looking forward to the 2nd season but I found I couldn't really recommend this to people outside the fans of the game or books, they don't do a good job of building the lore for newbies to the series... I can imagine them thinking "Nilfwho? What the fuck is Skellige?"

Even having played the entire game, I struggled to remember certain characters and places or whether they were from the game or not.

Geralt is arrogant, has no respect for rules and is pretty ruthless, especially earlier days. Witchers are hated for a reason by average folk and no heroes whatsoever.

BTW what were Jon Snow's fault? Other than knowing nuting of course.

Before he went full retard he was half retard and way too kind in his thinking of others.

One of the worst episodes of anything I've ever seen. Going to watch episode three later otherwise I'll probably give up on it if I don't make a real effort to stick with it.
Episode two is the one with Elves isn't it. I enjoyed episode 3 or 4.

I've only two episodes left and will probably finish it tonight.

Jon snow was always an idiot and naive he thought he was better than everyone when he joined the nights watch.

The show goes easy on him in the books he becomes too big for his boots when he turns Lord commander

At that rate just about anyone who utters a line has flaws, Witcher characters certainly do. Ciri a naive young princess who knows nutin of the cruel outside world, magic etc. Gerald could care less of the innocent if money's around and arrogantly calls for the law of surprise since he 'doesn't believe in it' which means fuckall since it still ties his fate to Ciri's and in turn a lot of ppl. die. Funny fighting queen is rude, arrogant, overplays her card and overestimates her army: her kingdom is butchered. Even that bard has flaws: he puts his schlong where it don't belong, and let's not start on Yennefer betraying ppl. and rules.

But the point is: The Witcher is not GoT, and you need to get past the opening couple of episodes which I also struggled with (not that first episodes of GoT were anything special). Then tone changes to rather light and fun, with good action and gore, memorable main lead and tits... plus a catchy song. This is NOT an HBO-style world builder, it's adventures in an already built world, and completely okay in it if ur into fantasy, that's all.

Just finished it there. Kinda meh on the whole thing. Henry Cavill is good in the lead role and Yennefer is fit as fuck. Not sure if I'd watch another series to be honest.

Hang on a second. There's three timelines? I knew it was jumping back and forth but I had no idea the three main characters stories were happening at different times. No wonder I was confused.
