They said the US EU Tarrifs wouldn't work.....But Junker came-a-running tail between his legs and made a deal (faster than Britain's 2 year negetotians I add)

They said the US Chinese Tarrifs would only hurt them both! But then the Chinese came-a-running...

Looks like a deal is close and China could be opening up their markets to many US industries from finance to manufacturing.

Trump getting stuff done again. :deal

Sounds like great news, but let's wait to see what concessions were made before we celebrate...
For sure mate. And Trump always asks for the earth then concedes a little. But that's business acumen 101.

I can see the US opening up it's tech industry a bit maybe companies with links to national security too. I think overall the US has historically been more open than China but China had more to lose.

I don't think China is this behemoth that wants to rule the world either. But they're strong and have been allowed to leverage too much of their influence on good will alone and I think they know deep down it's time to open a bit.

Nobody wanted tarrifs really but their hand had to be forced eventually. I mean if you've got something really good why change it unless you must and that's been their game plan since forever now.

Just imagine if this came off though the difference it would make to GDP growth alone would be remarkable and deserves recognition.

This is all true; I just worry about the timing of it all. Trump is coming off of an embarrassing defeat in the government shutdown fiasco and the walls are closing in on his obstruction investigation... and now, seemingly out of the blue, we are on the verge of some massive trade agreement. Trump is clearly trying his hardest to attach his term to some sort of legacy, and, by now, we should all be wary of his impulsive nature. I'm not sure that he is dealing from a position of strength right now. Moderate short term gains for massive long term losses could be the result.

We'll just have to wait and see...

Let's hold the fuck on here for a minute...

"Trump says agreement would be the 'largest trade deal ever made'"

Trump also said he'd put Hilary in jail.

Trump also said Mexico would pay for the wall.

Trump also said NK would disarm.

Trump said he would abolish Obamacare.

Are people really taking a Trump statement, printed in the Daily Mail, as gospel?

When will you people ever learn, ffs?

Trump getting stuff done again. :deal
Again?

This would suggest he has a record of getting stuff done.

Honestly, after 2 years of him being a moron on the most public stage I simply can't comprehend how anyone takes him seriously. Politics aside, man. I aint invested here in any way but when i look at Trump all i see is a complete and utter clown and honestly, people who don't see that concern me greatly.

List of Trump's record of big accomplishments during his presidency

This.

And also, anyone who thinks Trump is out there making deals for the overall benefit of America is fucking deluded man. There's an edge there for him first and foremost somewhere.

The fuck is wrong with people?

The world's biggest trade deal is between the EU and Japan. Unless Trump's imagination is the real world and tbh it might be.

Nice fantasy. Meanwhile in reality the biggest free trade agreement EU and Japan's Economic Partnership Agreement actually comes into force.

Tell me how long that little beauty took to agree please?

And then compare it to how quick this one was made if it comes off. Which I think to will. China wants it. No....China needs it.

Not proud to be Scottish. How fuckin moronic to be proud of an accident of birth.

Not a nationalist. Also fuckin moronic. Nationalists are almost as retarded as people who think those who want independence, like almost every other country on earth, must be nationalists.

I don't vote here. Don't consider myself a Democrat, Republican or belonging to any other affiliation. I've lived here under Dem governments and Rep governments and live my live, for the most part, out with influence of whoever is in passing whatever bills that either barely, or don't at all, affect me. I'm as uninvested as a person can be in a 21st century Western country.

That all said, Donald Trump is a demonstrable idiot and anyone who disagrees with that is also an idiot.
