You could have done that originally, instead of proclaiming Trump a brilliant strategist who had ended N.Korean missile testing and trolling about how he had done something unique in the region.
Should the status quo simply have been maintained?

You need to be more specific. Were you praising Obama when he met with leaders of nations that the US didn't like?

I didn't even criticise Trump for meeting Kim, I just laughed at the preposterous idea that he'd solved it all because there had been 6 months of no tests post meeting, when there had been multiple periods of such inactivity, and longer, in recent years.

I can't imagine why a South Korean president would support the US one.

Abe had several reasons for buttering up Trump, and even if 100% believed he deserved it, so what? Obama fucking won the Nobel Peace Prize, in probably the most undeserved win ever...oh wait...I just remembered...Kissinger won it too.

It was no more leading to war than it was previously. Jesus, as much as you hate Swollen Goat, he provided you with reams of evidence of all the back and forth nonsense that has gone on over the years. The North straight up sank Southern ships just before I moved there in 2010. There's been sporadic periods of ramped up tensions followed by honeymoon periods for YEARS, going back to the rule of Kim Il-Sung. This continued on and off through Kim Jong-Il's leadership and there was the Sunshine Policy of the South for almost 12 years.

The situation is not any worse under Trump no. It's not any better either, that's what everyone was trying to tell you when you were lauding Trump for "solving" the issue and making more progress than anyone else before. All people were saying was "This always happens, it's happened dozens of times before, don't be so reactionary".

By your logic there were big wins for Obama too. And Bush. And Clinton. The North is doing what it always does, and Trump has not made it any worse or any better, it just goes in waves of negative and then positive rhetoric from the North.

I cannot work out what percentage of you is just trolling because it entertains you and what percentage actually thinks Trump is a brilliant leader, but it doesn't really matter as whatever the split, all you will ever do is praise him just like a certain other group will always attack him. It's two sides of the same coin. Anyway I am off out, and I will leave this thread again, as it's always a waste of time really.
The Norks are a belligerent nuclear power that's developing ICBM's. With a person that seems unstable at the helm. Should that have been ignored, or should a face to face dialogue at least have been attempted? Nothing ventured nothing gained. Trump's talking to Kim was a breakthrough in and of itself. Maybe you should leave this thread. Because like Goat you're abilities in international politic, or politic in general, are sorely lacking. Don't waste our time with your foolishness.

Yes, you're the benchmark for impartial, objective opinions on here. Maybe you misread or didn't even make it to the end of what I wrote. I DIDN'T criticise Trump for meeting with Kim.

At the time, I criticised the left media for attacking him for something that they'd have praised had Obama done it.

But, you couldn't even bother to read two paragraphs of a post before deciding it was me criticising Trump and thus leaping in to defend him.

@Joe E you've liked this comment, but he's laughing at you and not me. @tommygun711 is practically the only regular poster in this thread who's not ridiculously biased.

But more excellent comprehension from you Joe, in thinking that he was laughing with you rather than at you.
I thought you were out? @tommygun711 didn't direct that post at anyone. You've assumption not with standing.

Oh I'll leave you to your cheerleading and inability to decipher a 2 paragraph post, I'm just letting you know that you liked a post that wasn't doing what you thought it was.

I could be wrong, but I'm just backing my ability to read people more than yours.

You carry on, too, Strike. Anytime you want some education in the finer points of politics, especially American politics, you feel free to come back.

Shinzo politely denied ever saying that...

I suspect Suko is smart enough to know that the way to get maximum favors from Trump is via flattery.

You're being extremely biased.

Did Moon or Shinzo nominate Barry because of his efforts with NK?

I'm starting to think it's you who is trolling

Well, seeing as Moon did not become SK President until 2017, he'd have had a job. Also, there were no official nominations. Moon was told that he deserved it and responded by saying Trump did.

You seem to put a lot of stock into Nobel Peace Prize nominations all of a sudden, the award is a joke and Obama winning it should highlight that perfectly.

Remember, I don't have an issue with Trump meeting Kim, I think it was worth a try and had Obama done it, the same people lambasting Trump would have been praising him. Then again, had Obama done it, you would have been lambasting him. Like I said, it's two sides of the same coin.

My reference to the Nobel was to show that the leaders of SK and Japan both gave credit to Trump for what was happening on the Peninsula.

We both agree Trump meeting Kim was worth a try.

Except that @Strike didn't agree that Trump meeting Kim was necessarily a good move, at first, until he was questioned about it. Implying that it was almost useless. Even going as far as to mention Ol' Slappy in the process: "It was no more leading to war than it was previously. "Jesus, as much as you hate Swollen Goat, he provided you with reams of evidence of all the back and forth nonsense that has gone on over the years"
Then he went on to say that meeting Kim would have little effect in US, NORK relations:
"The situation is not any worse under Trump no. It's not any better either, that's what everyone was trying to tell you when you were lauding Trump for "solving" the issue and making more progress than anyone else before. All people were saying was "This always happens, it's happened dozens of times before, don't be so reactionary" Calling you a reactionary and a troll...
"I cannot work out what percentage of you is just trolling...

I believe the two sayings are interchangeable, one maybe more common in the US than the UK. The two sides here for me, are rabid hatred of Trump and rabid praise of Trump...total opposites, but the coin is the complete lack of objectivity and utter bias.
