I think it was worth a try. I said at the time, that it was neither a bad move or a great one, it would probably achieve nothing, but no harm in trying. What happened immediately after the meetings was that Vino praised Trump for having solved the issues. He banged on about no missile tests, and I pointed out that this was common...periods with no testing, then periods of testing. Nothing had been solved yet. He refused to accept that and trolled about how Trump's tough stance followed by meetings had ended testing.Except that @Strike didn't agree that Trump meeting Kim was necessarily a good move, at first, until he was questioned about it. Implying that it was almost useless. Even going as far as to mention Ol' Slappy in the process: "It was no more leading to war than it was previously. "Jesus, as much as you hate Swollen Goat, he provided you with reams of evidence of all the back and forth nonsense that has gone on over the years"
Then he went on to say that meeting Kim would have little effect in US, NORK relations:
"The situation is not any worse under Trump no. It's not any better either, that's what everyone was trying to tell you when you were lauding Trump for "solving" the issue and making more progress than anyone else before. All people were saying was "This always happens, it's happened dozens of times before, don't be so reactionary" Calling you a reactionary and a troll...
"I cannot work out what percentage of you is just trolling...
Testing begins again. Nothing has changed. Not Trump's fault, but not proves that just kissing his ass over something after 6 months when the long term results are yet to be seen was ridiculous. And it was.
That's the problem with this thread. If Vino had said "It's worth a try, all the other tactics have failed" then fine. He didn't. He did his usual "Trump is amazing" stuff as the other side did their usual "Trump is the worst at everything" mantra.
