There was a rematch clause in the contract with Fury. Title or no title.

Has nothing to do with WBC. It is not a WBC ruling that demands a 3rd fight. It is the contract Fury signed to give Wilder a rematch in the event of a loss.
But the only reason there was a rematch clause in the first place is because he was putting his title at risk. He can only win back his title by beating Fury in a rematch, he can't restore his 0 so if Fury doesn't have his title anymore he doesn't need to fight Fury. I don't think I've ever heard of a rematch clause being present in the contract for a non-title fight as what would be the point?

Bottom line is Fury signed a contract to give a rematch to Wilder.
Giving up the title is not going to get him out of the contract.

If the contract stipulation states he has to make his first defence against Wilder. Then thats what he is going to have to do.

Otherwise he will be in breach of contract...

If it was the WBC that stated he has to give a rematch. He could simply give up the title. That is not the case here.

He has direct and legally binding agreement with Wilder for a rematch....only way to get out of fighting Wilder next without legal repercussions is to come to a mutual agreement with Wilder for a stepaside fee.

The only trick available to Team Fury was to claim the rematch clause had expired. They have failed with that trick.

I think it is all academic, as even if Wilder would be happy if Fury vacated and he was allowed to fight for the title against Whyte, the AJ fight is predicated on Undisputed which means the real WBC belt, so the joke "Franchise" belt is of as much use as Fury vacating.

I think we all just have to accept that it's Fury v Wilder III and AJ v Usyk this year and then we will start negotiation's again in September IF they both win (which while the most likely outcome, I would probably put a 30% chance on one of them losing) for a Spring 22 fight. EH is really gonna earn his stripes if he can manage to put the pieces back together for next year.

Well Derek Chisora stated a month ago.. That Eddie Hearn was fooling everyone the fight would not happen this year.

What ever case, I dont see what the big deal is. Fight Wilder and Usyk respectively then fight each other afterwards.

Personally not that impressed. Seems to have lost weight though...open to right hand counter. When he gets close up he is open to hooks and uppercuts especially when is ducking. His balance is not good, still has not learned to properly anchor and manoeuvre the back leg. Proper balance is the first thing you are supposed to master when you are a novice in the gym.

Only positive is that he is stringing more punches together in sequence. He has quicker hands then Fury, but for that quickness to show he needs to throw punches in bunches. Rather then the usual one two combo at a time and a windmill attack when opponent is hurt.

As for Malik Scott atleast he is really working the pads. And using them to add some variety to Wilders skillset.

Compare that to Brelands pad work.

Fury just signed the contract for the fight, showed the video footage of him doing it on Taylor v Ramirez. (Wilder's signature was already om the contract)

It's just going to be another KO for Fury. He figured out how to beat Wilder and has the skillset to do it again because Wilder is far too lacking in adapting to what Fury is going to bring--------again.

Fury had such an easy fight the last outing and totally dominated Wilder and that video of Tarver giving his analysis of Wilder's weaknesses as a fighter were right on the mark and Wilder can't change that in the time between the last fight and the upcoming one.

It's a bit sickening that Breland throwing the towel in allowed Wilder to do this. No-one would want to see this fight if Wilder had been a highlight reel KO, which he was about to be.

Oh well, I guess we get to see Wilder getting battered again.

And the shit talking from Fury will be epic lol.

Wilder will try and box but will get out jabbed imo, he will come in lighter and try and be fleet footed but he'll likely get mauled again
tyson will probably use a combo of tactics from the first and second fight, I can see the first 2 rounds fury outboxing wilder and making him miss and the next 4 or 5 rounds applying pressure and roughing wilder on the inside I hope it ends in a clean KO for fury, Ive had enough of wilder.

^ Wilder sounds as delusional as ever, and Malik Scott sounds like a a sycopantic enabler.
I doubt these guys are looking at the last 2 fights and trying to correct mistakes.

Bet the farm on Fury.

Wilder thinks he did not make any mistakes in his previous 2 fights there was one big conspiracy against him...by some mysterious forces.

All the veteran coaches plus Floyd Mayweather who offered to train him and iron out his mistakes. Got dismissed as haters by him. For having the temerity to say he is a flawed fighter.

So along comes Malik Scott who agrees with all his conspiracy theories and teĺls him how great he is and he got hired.

Kudos to Scott if Wilder loses he gets a big paycheck. And if Wilder wins by some miracle he can claim credit and becomes a hyped trainer.

This was the last ppv that I saw with my mother before she passed away.

I’ll always be a fan of Tyson Fury.

The skill level of these 2 cavemen just throwing shots and haymakers at all levels. No skill just winging punches .

It’s boxing so don’t count out Wilder but he fought with a busted ear drum in the 2nd fight..

I literally can't stop laughing at that video clip lol

But I do like that fight for the undercard, if Fury comes through tonight unscathed I'd really like to see that next month, I mean WIlder's been chinned at least twice already and he hasn't even had 10 fights I don't think :smile but we don't know much about Fury, he could have a worse chin than Wilder, I've seen every Fury fight so far but no idea if he can take a shot so there's some intrigue there from me at least yeah let's get this one made the only problem is where would it be weight wise?
