i'm pretty sure it looked like there was another cut almost as big lower down the eye lid as well wasn't there? or was that just blood?

First time I seen a member of the telecast tell a trainer... that his fighter was acutually cut by a punch and not a headbutt.

(Thats more or less advising him to adjust their strategy.)

What kind of nonsense was that.

I believe that's a career destroying injury and if he were to fight any of the top 3 it would open again and he wouldn't survive.

yeah, rightly or wrongly it can't be denied they interfered in the fight there. Ethically dubious and could be argued technically coaching?

They were correcting the misinformation that the ref had provided to Fury's corner.

He told them it was a clash of heads.

The commission subsequently reviewed the replay and (correctly) determined that the cut resulted from a punch.

Fury's corner is entitled to that information.

Helluva fight !

Greatly exceeded expectations.

the role of the commentator is to observe and to commentate, not to interfere with the outcome of a fight. Like I said, rightly or wrongly, they did that.

Fury needs to get up for these fights. If he doesn't, could easily get beat. Never known a fighter to only turn it on when facing elite level guys.

Big John going in hard on the entire Fury team, including Ben Davison. Says the team around Tyson are going to cost him his career...

116-112 was about right. Thought Fury looked fairly ordinary.

What a let down 2019 turned out to be - instead of a round robin between Fury, AJ and Wilder, we got AJ losing to Ruiz, Fury losing a quart of blood against someone we'd never heard of and have Wilder rematching some dude who's almost 50. Next year can't possibly be worse than what they served up this year.

Saying what? It did occur to me that Tyson ignored Ben Davison throughout

Could well be.

But how fair would it have been for the ref to have left the uncorrected and false impression with the Fury corner that it would go to the scorecards if the fight got stopped ?

Haven't seen the fight yet. Will try catch it today if I have time.

Not sure on the rules regarding the press informing the corner about the cut. I do know that corners have often asked the tv and press representatives how they are scoring a fight in the past, so if there is a rule, it is maybe not enforced very often.

Didn't think much of Wallin from what I have seen of previous fights.

Will be interested to see if he was better than I, and most expected, or if Fury underperformed. Sounds Like John Fury has made his mind up on that subject already.

Probably would have been better for UK boxing if Fury fought Ruiz, and Joshua fought Wallin.

is it fair if you get given out for LBW when the replays show you weren't?

Sport isn't always "fair". but commentators deliberately interfering in a live event? I'm not sure I've seen that before.

Tyson's father, John Fury, said he was "proud" of his son for "how he mauled his way through", but also claimed changes needed to be made to the fighter's preparation and team.
"It's the worst I've seen from Tyson," he told BT Sport Box Office. "He has to be honest and say things are not right. For a man to be in that condition after eight weeks camp, it looked like he had nothing after round two.
"His strength and power went tonight. He was as weak as a kitten from the first round. At 18st 1lb, I've warned him and warned him. He is a 19st fighter.
"If I had my way, the lot [Tyson's team] would be gone. If they keep that team that will be his career gone."
On the two cuts around the right eye, John Fury said: "An injury like that could finish a career. He might need surgery on that."
