Finkel has responded to Arum’s comments :

“He’s entitled to his opinion, he can think anything he wants.”

“Deontay and I would like to have the next fight, as planned, against Fury.

“We’ll fight him any date, any place.”

Hardly an authoritative response from Finkel. Sounds like they aren't really interested.

Meanwhile Otto Wallin is putting his hand up for a rematch.

Good luck to him. He would be a fool not to.

Sounds like they know they haven't got a leg to stand on legally, and possibly didn't want it.

They can maybe try and spin this, say Fury ducked him and fight a pbc fighter and regain some mojo.

Anyone with a brain will see through it, but the idiots who believed the stuff about his ringwalk will believe what they want.

They can stay busy, hope AJ wins and try make that fight, or hope the belts start to become vacant due to mandos.

Has Ortiz been out since his back to back championship fight KO losses to Wilder?

Number 3, the WBC are a joke

WBC should sort a four man tournament, Ruiz Ortiz Wilder and winner of Pov-Whyte for the mando position in 2022.
Nah, just need the WBSS to get on the heavyweight division. Every tournament they've done has been fantastic. They've done 5, the list of the finals are Inoue vs Donaire, Briedis vs Dorticos, Prograis vs Taylor, Usyk vs Gassiev, and Smith vs Groves.

I wouldn't trust the WBC to host a tournament, they're garbage.

That would be great, but if Povetkin beats Whyte back to back, given their rankings beforehand, Povetkin would probably deserve it.

That’s not happening in a million years.

I can dream. Heavyweights seem to make it hard to make fights compared to those divisions. Bunch of divas.
I still have memories of the ill-fated last attempt at a heavyweight tournament. Looked good on paper. Never got past first base.

Top 8 from BoxRec would be
Fury
Wilder
Joshua
Povetkin
Usyk
Ruiz
Hunter
Whyte

That could be a pretty good tournament. Better than Joshua and Wilder not fighting and who knows what Fury is going to be doing.

There's no one in boxing with enough clout and money to make it happen though.
