They split the first two fights (both winning their respective fights by stoppage), and now we get the rubber match. What's unnecessary about it?
It's MMA, Mexi-Box is going to cry and bitch about it. Watch for him to demonstrate his devastating wit and intelligence by calling it "MMGay" in his next post. :thumbsup

Stipe won way too dominant in that second fight. Cormier looked like shit. I just don't see a point in the rematch when the fight was won that dominantly. I can't imagine what Cromier could do differently.

Cormier swept the first 3 rounds, as I recall.

Uh, what? Cormier won the first 3 rounds before Stipe made the adjustment in the 4th to repeatedly go downstairs to the body with the left, which set him up for the stoppage. Cormier KO'd him in the first round in the first fight. He's won 4 of the 5 rounds they fought against each other.

I don't remember the fight like that. Thought Stipe was handfully winning the whole fight then stopped him with the body shots.

Yeah, I agree with that.

I quite like this fight even though most people don’t. I want to see how DC adjusts to those body shots that lost him the last fight, if Stipe chooses to try them again.

Wow seems like these guys have been around forever. I've not followed MMA for a while though but my guess is cormier's run his course.

I thought the same DC was well in control of the fight but Stipe kept landing body shots as the fight went on. DC just didn't defend them at all going into the 4th Round DC looked knackered and was like a punching bag.

I would think and hope DC isn't as dismissive of the body shots this time round.

I recall Stipe not really working the body until he seemed to make a conscious decision to do it in round 4, when he landed one good one, Cormier visibly reacted to it, and Stipe immediately just started spamming hooks to the body and the fight was over a minute or so later. Could be wrong though, I don't think I've watched the fight since seeing it live. :conf
