The article doesn't detail exactly what his PPV points arrangement was either. Which is a significant part of his pay. All it says is that the documents show that he earned somewhere north of $2 million for UFC100. How far north, nobody outside of the room knows. But it wouldn't be at all shocking if PPV points and sales incentives doubled that or more. There's a reason he went back to the cage multiple times when Vince was paying him $250k just to show up for one night on RAW.
I'm looking forward to the fight. I hope Colby dominates him and takes the title in a 5-0 shutout, just to see the tears and butthurt from fans and fighters.Even now, Askren has a way about him. Good deal, and I doubt I watch that title fight.
Johnny Walker returns at MSG in November, against Corey Anderson.
Not sure how I feel about this fight. Obviously I love seeing Walker's name on a card, but Anderson is a big step up. His wrestling is 10x better than anyone Walker has faced.
I can handle Walker taking an L here, if he learns from it. But if he goes out there and faceplants Anderson in three minutes for his fourth consecutive KO1, then he becomes the next man to challenge Jon Jones. Which to me is either a brilliant fight whet Jones has a real chance of getting wiped out, or (more likely) a somewhat boring and one-sided one.
He seems like exactly the guy to just go out there with total self belief and not be afraid to throw crazy shit with bad intentions right out of the gate. Like Jones did against Shogun. Actually Walker reminds me a lot of seeing Jones' run to the title, except without the potential GOAT upside. But the way he goes balls out and backs himself completely and gives zero fucks about what his opponent might be thinking or doing, that reminds me of a pre-title Jones. If he beats Anderson and gets the title shot, the first round will be crazy. The crowd will be on fire to see Walker break out the leaping knees and spinning elbows. He’s so fucking entertaining. Hopefully he smashes through Anderson and actually puts an effort in against Jon Jones.
I was so gutted with Smith’s effort. All the talk was about being an underdog and having nothing to lose, then he spent fucking 25 mins scared to throw an overhand. Someone needs to at least go down swinging. I know Jones is awkward and skilful as fuck, but do something.
