Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

You refuse to acknowledge the irrefutable fact that you’re wrong and you call me ignorant? Okay, dickhead.

I refuse to accept that the laws of physics are wrong. I refuse to accept that some shitty pseuedoscientific TV show is 100% accurate, especially given that the same show reports that 140 lb female, Lucia Rijker, hits with 281 lbs more force than Bas fucking Rutten.

Presumably, you'd much rather be punched in the head by Bas Rutten than by Lucia Rijker? Right? I mean, after all the show said she hits FAR harder, so it must be true.

Who knew that Fight Science on National Geographic was an "irrefutable fact"? The same show that confirmed that the "death punch" and "one inch punch" were real. It's just a hard science show, not remotely meant as casual entertainment with some lay science thrown in. Episodes like "Super Cops" and "Stealth Fighters" are proper science.

People are missing something thats hugely decisive when it comes to generating punching power - accuracy and timing.

If you put Mayweather and McGregor in front of those punch machines (the kind you see in shit nightclubs) that scores your punch power, I don’t think it’s unrealistic that McGregor would produce more power. Punching a stationary object at maximum power is very different from punching a person who’s constantly moving, knowing that if you load up and miss you’re likely to get countered hard.

And that’s why boxers are comparatively much harder hitters. In a lot of cases they’ve spent a decade or so longer than an mma fighter perfecting timing over thousands of rounds of sparring.

More gems from that show...

The front kick from a 7th degree black belt in Karate is 429 lbs of force, which means Lucia Rijker's right hook is more than double the force of his kick. And the kick from a Muay Thai and MMA fighter is 1400 lbs of force, so a heavyweight Muay Thai kick is only 464 lbs more force than Rijker's right hook.

And there's more from the show that deals solely in "irrefutable facts". Glen Levy, a ninja, not only shows off how he can miraculously dodge death stars, but his "crane style wing strike" generates 1500 lbs of force...so more than a Muay Thai roundhouse kick. There you have it...a scientific fact, a Ninjitsu elbow strike is more powerful than a Muay Thai kick.

More irrefutable facts can be found on TV shows like "Deadliest Warrior" in which we learnt that Joan of Arc would beat William the Conqueror, Theodore Roosevelt would beat Lawrence of Arabia and a Vampire beats a Zombie. Science...I fucking love it.

 I don’t think anyone else takes their posting on here anywhere near as seriously as you do. Jesus...

Yeah, timing is pretty much everything in boxing. Also, not seeing a shot is critically important. Some fighters disguise the set ups to their shots and then get their fist from point A to point B with incredible speed and accuracy. That's more important than pure 'power'

Definitely not. You probably did jerk off a dog though.
Is that another windup? Even dumber than the last one! Anyway, this is the MMA thread, not the stupid infantile bullshit thread. :thumbsup

Did you jerk off a dog or nah?
Jesus Christ. I posted a photo of me patting a dog I lived with, and Vino is a weird stalker who spent the next six months following me from thread to thread typing "you jerked off a dog" two hundred times, in the hope that mindless repetition would get idiots like you to pick up on it and run with it. And apparently, that works. That's all it takes.

That’s not what I heard. Apparently you jerk off the dog to calm it down. That’s fucking weird and gross.

Haven't been wound up like that since I was about 11. You're like an artist, I'm a bit in awe. :thumbsup

If you were innocent you would have simply said something like “nah, I didn’t do it”. Instead you made up a fake explanation and pointed the finger at another poster, which tells me you’re clearly guilty. What type of fucking weirdo jerks off dogs, ffs?

Plenty of boxers have done the hard yards mate and are far more deserving of a shot. Don't give a fuck there's no way anybody can say Masvidal deserves a fight with Canelo when they're not even in the same sport. People bitch and moan on here about mismatches and this would be one of the biggest ones ever. Masvidal being a genuine hard man doesn't change the fact he'd get the biggest beating of his life in that fight.
Which boxers do you think would be more deserving of a shot. Take into account their performances this past year and how much money each of their fights would generate with Canelo.

I wound him up so bad he had to reply to my post three times.
Mate, when have I ever ended up insulting you? Never. I wasn't wound up, I was genuinely amused when I realised your "irrefutable fact" came from the same show that had ninjas proving their "crane wing" strikes were more powerful than Muay Thai kicks, and had Rijker hitting harder than Rutten (although not in the same episode).

You're the one who ended up calling me a dickhead and slipping in how you would knock me out in either type of glove. We were having a mild disagreement about a sport we're both interested in, and you started acting aggressive and condescending when in reality your evidence was a pop "science" show that is primarily light entertainment. I split the stuff into multiple posts, as I know about 90% of the board find posts (especially mine ) too long to read if they're more than 3 paragraphs.

Anyway, no hard feelings, but do you accept that you might have given the evidence from that show a little too much weight?
