Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

Think I'm more hyped for Hooker vs Felder.

Wonder why it's at WW?

:hat
Neither of them want to do the weight cut. Cowboy gets grumpy and miserable. Jorge and a ridiculous money fight is there at 170. Weight discipline shouldn't matter much for either fighter, so might as well be comfy. It's all about Conor, and it's all stuff that will make Cowboy happy as well.

Yeah, if Conor wins it's a massive big fight against masvidal on the cards.

I'm backing cowboy

Come on now. Their styles are made for an early FOTY (or KO) candidate. Even without Conor McGregor being such a huge star, and even though it's a few too many years late, this is still an amazing fight.

Dont think you are.
I am more emotionally invested in Hooker's career than McGregor's. Also I am weighing up going to Auckland for the flight, though I probably can't justify the expense since I've taken far too much leave from work lately.

Also I can't fucking stand Cowboy. :conf

I would bet my house that is the desired route for all parties.

I dont expect masvidal to announce shit until post jan 18th.
He even said in his last interview that his hands are fucked and he needs a while off. It does time nicely with a fight against the winner of Cerrone/McGregor, I just think Masvidal wrecks either of them.

I think I’ve said this in here already, but a prime McGregor (vs Alvarez, for example) beats any version of Cowboy, imo. It’ll just be interesting to see how two years of coke have affected him.

Tough fight to call without knowing how sharp Conor will be.

I just couldnt back McGregor.

He has been a bit part athlete for 3 years now. I'm sure he'll commit himself during the 7 week camp or whatever , but is that enough at this level? I dont think so personally.

You could definitely be right.

What’s the score with McGregor and Kavanagh? I haven’t seen any definite signs of beef, but I saw a Kavanagh interview months ago and he said he hadn’t spoken to Conor since the Khabib fight, and McGregor also had a bit of a dig at the plan for that fight in a few interviews afterwards, saying it was too defensive and he should have gone with his own plan.

I wonder if they’ll team back up or if Conor thinks he knows best these days. I always thought Kavanagh was a nice calming influence for McGregor to have around. He seems to know MMA well, too.

He hasn't stopped training at any point. He hasn't gotten out of shape either. He's one of those people who feeds off of distraction to a degree. He got beaten by a much better fighter in Khabib. That's it, in my opinion. That said, Cowboy is tough when he doesn't break mentally. We will see. Personally I think he's built for Conor to destroy, but you never know in this fight game.

Conor has been instragraming pictures from training sessions all over the world consistently for the last many years without stop. This narrative that he stopped being serious about the martial arts is something that media and sherdog came up with to explain him being terrified of Khabib and getting the breaks beat off of him.

I dont think they have fallen out too bad.

However, Kavanagh has fallen out with a few of McGregor's old teammates and original SBG Ireland crew like Paddy Holohan etc( and to be honest, it sounds like Kavangh fucked a lot of them over). There is 4 SBG gyms in and around 1 area of Dublin now, which are run by those old teammates and mcgregor regularly trains at those gyms. Just last week he was training in holohans gym ( which is the gym I went to those 2 classes), but I haven't seen him pop up in Kavanaghs gym at all. But then again, I seen a recent tweet from mcgregor to one of those old teammates asking him to draw a line in the sand over the disagreement and get on with their lives.

Yes, and some of those instagram posts are promotional for that McGregor fast stuff, some are also old recycled photos from like the 2nd Nate Diaz fights. I've seen them myself. Hes also been irregularly gym bouncing, which isn't a sign of an athlete who is working to a consistent program day in day out, like he was when he rose to the top.

Yeah I watched the interview with Hoolahan, he’s definitely not mates with Kavanagh these days.

Pretty sure this isn’t true mate, he was absolutely hammering the brakes off the cocaine at one point which is common knowledge.

Anyway, don’t really care about this fight, Conor has disgusted me the past few years with his pathetic antics and it’s hard to see a way back for him.

I hope they just shake hands at the pre fight presser and get on with it. That phase of WWE style promoting was fun whilst it lasted but it’s time to move on.
