***UFC!*** The Authentic Official Israel "The Last Stylebender" Adesanya Undefeated, Undisputed Middleweight Champion / General MMA Thread

Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

Oh and by the way, I’ve got Cerrone for this fight, might throw a few quid on it too. 170 was a mistake for Conor.
170 is absolutely a mistake, but Cerrone is just about the most winnable fight for him in any division.

I'd fucking love to see Cerrone pull it out and get a sub finish. I guess we'll see what kind of mode McGregor is in when he steps into the cage.

A sub is definitely one I'm eyeing up.

The only thing is that I actually think mcgregor has decent takedown defence and I wouldnt class Cerrone as a takedown specialist. He could carve mcgregor up if it goes to ground for any length of time, but I dont think it will hit the mat for any considerable amount of time.

I still might put a bet on Cerrone by sub though.

For sure that'd be awesome. Let's remember that Conor actually has very good defensive grappling before he gets exhausted. He did a beautiful sweep on Nate, as we might recall. People do forget a lot about Conor due to Khabib being Khabib...but c'mon. Khabib son's people. That's who he is.

170 is not the place for him to compete, but his best 2 fights are there. Cowboy and Jorge can combine for some money. As you said, Cowboy is as winnable a tune-up as they come. Not that he's not great, just doesn't deal with the pressure will and tends to wilt. Jorge is greatly improved, but he can be found with that left, for sure. We'll just have to see what plays out

People also forget that he was doing ok against Khabib too in terms of grappling defence. He was on his back from rd 1 , and never looked in too much danger of being submitted until rd 4, when he eventually did get submitted.

Yeah, definitely. Also, even though it was close, he’s still the first person in MMA to take a round off Khabib. He got mauled, just like everyone else, but it was one of Khabib’s tougher fights. I think it might have gone all 5 rounds if Conor hadn’t been caught with that bomb of an overhand right. That definitely rattled him.

That whole fight was win-win. I love them both and it was a great storyline either way.

Yeah, Khabib was angling for an arm triangle a number of times in the fight, couldnt get it. Went for a kimura which was defended also.

I should clarify that was meant to say, “I loved them both”. McGregor got way to brash, gobby, and WWE for me, and then started being a cunt outside of the UFC too.

He’s lost a lot of fans.

The memory on combat sports fans is like that if a goldfish. Under all the insta posts and on twitter it’s all “nobody gives a fuck” and “he’s finished blah blah blah”. He’s one win away from being super relevant again, and two wins away from making the biggest rematch in MMA history. I think he beats Cerrone after some adversity, kind of hope he doesn’t trash him too much in the build up, how can you talk shit about him? He seems like a stand up bloke outside the cage and inside the cage he’s a legend.

Yeah I’ve seen a lot of those “nobody gives a fuck” comments. McGregor vs Cowboy is a fucking cool fight.

I dont think him there will be too much trash talk to be honest.

There will be some, but not to the extent that we have seen before.

McGregor has already commented on one of cerrones instagram posts saying something along the lines of 'enjoy the holidays, from the McGregor's to the cerrones, see you in January'..

So far, so civil.

Hipsters man, and bellends.

Most cerrone fights for me regardless of opponent is must watch.

And there is no big show like a big McGregor PPV, love him or hate him.

Reality is, he will probably spend more time talking about Khabib. He's obsessed with him.

Yeah, I’m the same. McGregor’s just as watchable even though I think he’s a dick nowadays, and Cerrone’s not normally in a dull fight.

I think Ferguson is one cheesy, thick cunt in interviews, but there’s not many people I’d rather watch in the octagon.

Yeah, Ferguson is probably my single favourite fighter to watch too. He's just nuts. I love when he tries some fucking mad move and then has to roll out of it like a ninja :rofl

It’s a cool fight, and will probably be fun for however long it lasts. That’s about as positive as I can be really.

Not really interested in Jorge or the BMF belt or McGregor/Cerrone

I am just fucking ALL IN on Tony Khabib

No plastic belts or WWE required just the best vs the best

I don’t think anyone’s more excited about McGregor vs Cowboy than Khabib vs Ferguson. Even Conor knows what the real fight is.
