Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

Sounds like Fedor would like to go out on that one. I don't want to see him again if it's not in a ring. He really just never figured out circles. Looks so awkward in cages.

I actually thought Fedor looked worse than the last couple of wins he had where he atleast looked pretty explosive to begin with here he looked pretty slow himself it's just rampage was so fat he was even slower, please retire Fedor everything that made you great to begin with is severely declined, I don't think he ever had a good chin but he had amazing recovery and it's just not there anymore along with the speed, reflexes and stamina he's still got power but that is probably it, he's just bound for another devastating knockout loss to some younger loser with some fast hands that wouldn't have lasted a minute with him in his prime and I don't wanna see it.

It's a good win for him to go out on. TKO1 in Japan on a New Year's (ish) card, against a name from back in the day. He won't get a much better sign-off than that, I don't think.

That first hook Rampage threw, Fedor had enough time to go and find Wandy and tag him in before it landed, if he felt like it.

I’m saying McGregor knocks Cowboy out in the first round.

Cowboy seems to wobble a bit on massive occasions, whereas McGregor excels in those situations. McGregor wants this more, too.

The only two minor thoughts that go against McGregor for me are the facts that he’s been running his own training camp, and the fact that he’s had a two-year coke break. I’m still saying he’s good enough to stop Cerrone early in the fight.

I like how McGregor is trying to dictate Cowboy's tactics, but we know Cowboy will still plays in to his hand.

if your opponent says 'first one to go for a takedown is a bitch', he's saying 'please don't try to take me down' which means you should try to take him down. This means Cowboy will try to punch with him and get KO'd

The grappling side of this fight is odd. I think Cerrone’s takedowns are underrated, but so is McGregor’s takedown defence.

I’m not sure I’m completely sold by the narrative that ‘Cowboy can just take it to the ground and win’. If it ends up on the ground, Cerrone’s got a much higher chance of getting a submission than vice versa, but taking McGregor down isn’t easy. He also gets up really well.

I don't even think it's a case of taking him down and dominating him on the ground.

McGregor has good takedown defence, but we also know that if he defends takedowns for 2 rounds, the gas tank is empty.

If Cowboy can get him thinking about takedowns, it almost opens up opportunities for kicks.

I think if Cowboy does anything other than trading punches, he has a decent chance. It should all be about wrestling, kicks and ensuring he's not hanging around in punching range.

I think McGregor can go 3 rounds, I just don’t think he’ll have to.

He can go 3 rounds just fine. I think he beats the brakes off of Cowboy though. I think a few years ago it might have been a really great fight, but cowboy has slowed his pace significantly and gets by on MMA fighters kind of being garbage at a lot of aspects of striking

Yeah, I agree, even if that sounds like I’m undermining Cowboy’s career. I’m a big fan, and I think he’s really well rounded.

Bookies are pricing this fight like a 75%-25% in favour of McGregor.

I just cant buy that. It's close to a 50-50 fight for me all things being told. I'll give McGregor an edge on the basis of him rising to the big occasion in the past. So 55-45.

But, I will be putting money on Cowboy, and actually dont really care who wins. I like both guys and would be happy for both to win.

You might get better odds in the US though, it’s probably closer to a 50/50 out there.
