Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

3-2 Reyes. Pretty clean and discuss. Straight forward. Fucking Texas
I scored it 3-2 to Reyes but the 3rd was a swing round and Jones was always coming foward, walking through everything Reyes was throwing. I wasn’t upset at the decision as I do think the champion should be given close rounds, and if anyone has deserved the benefit of a close decision it’s Jones.

I don't agree with benefits of the round. Whoever won on the rules gets the round. You're the champion because you're the best at doing that for the majority of rounds in a fight, or able to finish the fight before then. It doesn't come with an advantage in treatment. I think Reyes landed more shots and did more damage in round 3. That said, technically Jones may have won under the archaic scoring criteria in Texas. So my whole opinion is a mute point.

If you're an official judge, then of course you score according to the official criteria.

If you're a fan, you score it however you want. I like to see octagon control - not "who is moving forward /holding the centre of the cage", but "who is closer to fighting the fight he wants, and who is closer to fighting on his opponent's terms."

That's waaaaaay down the list in terms of official scoring criteria. To me, if one guy is relentlessly pursuing the takedown and not really getting it or not keeping the guy on the ground, and his opponent is happy staying on his bike and picking away at him, then the guy who is happy with what he is doing is probably winning the fight. Official judges have to score according to the official criteria. Okay, that's fine. I like to prioritise aspects of the fight in a slightly different order than the official rules dictate. Sometimes that leads me to say that IMO, Reyes didn't do enough to take the belt off the champ. If I was being paid to sit cageside and hand in an official scorecard, then Reyes is the new champ. But I'm not an official judge. I'm a fan. Fans can judge a fight under PRIDE scoring criteria if they like that better. :conf

Bader vs Nemkov and Lima vs Mousasi going at it May 9th in bellator. Wooooooooooow. That's badass. I get that Lima is small, but he might fuck Mousasi up. He's improved in wild and amazing ways the last few years. Nemkov has been a breakout fighter as well. Can't wait.!!

Sucks that Nathaniel Wood lost last night. He's got a good future ahead of him, so maybe the loss will push him to improve. Rushing in a straight line and swinging with a heavy handed guy like Dodson was never going to end well.

My girlfriend has been following the rise of Adesanya because of his charisma and local connection. She wants to bet me $50 that his ego has gotten out of control and he'll lose to Yoel, despite never having seen Yoel fight.

Not going to accept this bet I don't think, because I suspect she may be right. Yoel is due to land another nuclear bomb of a one-shot KO.

Any predictions for tomorrow's main event? I see Felder taking it by way of violence. Though I am always pessimistic about Hooker, I expect him to get Barboza'ed every fight against an established guy, even though he's consistently surprised me with how sharp he's looked lately.

My prediction is for you to watch Fury/Wilder. You're on a boxing forum, Haggis.

Yea, that Barboza fight gave me a really skewed perception of Hooker.

Jesus, what a war that was. I had Felder winning by a gnat’s cock until that takedown, and then I had a feeling Hooker would get the win, especially at home. Unreal fight though.

I love the look of Jimmy Crute as well.

I had it Felder 3-2. Surprised to see the no touch gloves at the start, not surprised to see they were mates again at the end of the fight.

I think that Gaethje is too much for Hooker, but I also suspect that's a fight the fans can get behind. I really enjoy Hooker's fighting style, I find him very watchable.
