Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

I really think Gaethje could be the guy. More than Ferguson or Conor, anyway.

:hat
I disagree but I still can’t wait to watch it.

My argument’s a bit unfair anyway because it’s impossible to prove/disprove, but I still think Ferguson 2-3 years ago had the best chance of beating Khabib of anyone I’ve seen.

Maybe for snatching up a sub. But Khabib was always heavily favoured for me. Gaethje is much more of a live dog than Tony ever was IMHO, just because of the style matchup. Mind you, I was never all THAT impressed with Tony. Sure he is/was of course elite, but during his win streak he was pretty routinely hurt and wobbled. Khabib always seemed much more invincible to me.

Yeah, same here. Khabib was always favourite in my mind, even against a prime Ferguson. I just thought if that fight happened 100 times I could see Ferguson snatching 15 of the wins or so by D’Arce, Anaconda, or just by heavily cutting Khabib with elbows.

I don’t think Gaethje wins 15/100. Just my opinion, though.

I fancy Gaethje’s chances more than I fancied Conor’s, it’s just not very much in either case.
I honestly feel he might sprawl and brawl to victory. Going to go out on a limb and pick him for the upset because I don't see anybody else with as good of a shot.

Khabib's stand up is bad. His father is sick. It is the perfect storm.

If Khabib only shot double legs in the middle of the cage I’d give Gaethje more of a chance, but he doesn’t.

As good as Gaethje 2.0’s footwork and movement is, I just can’t see him avoiding the clinch or the cage for an entire round.

I genuinely believe that if you don’t want Khabib to get the clinch and drag you to the floor, the only option is to knock him out.

Yea. He had a look and charisma for sure. He also had some serious athleticism for spurts. He joined the sport way too old and way too broken down to be a serious force, but I think he had serious potential if he had gotten into it at the age his son has.

Anybody give Hooker any kind of a shot at all against Poirier the weekend after next? Because I don't.

It’s a tough one because a year ago I’d have said Poirier’s better everywhere and beats him comfortably, but Hooker’s beaten Vick, Iaquinta, and Felder since then and looked really good.

I’d still go with Poirier if I had to bet, but I think it’ll be a good fight.

I think that Hooker is pretty skilled but more importantly has a really good fighting brain - he is calm and composed and generally doesn't lose his mind and do stupid shit - but there's a ceiling to his athleticism that he is really going to struggle with as he encounters these title contenders.

Do you expect that DPs realization of how utterly helpless he was in that cage, after all of the training and skill he's put into this, might have fucked with his head a bit?

So what’s the score on that dude Dillon Danis?

Seems like a bit of a loud mouth annoying dude. I always see him carrying on about being the goat on Instagram and stuff. Never seen him fight though.

Is he any good? He’s not in the ufc though?

He's an absolute cunt. Marcelo Garcia, the nicest man on the planet, booted him from his gym because he was such a colossal wanker. He can grapple for sure, but iirc he's never won a major title, certainly not at black belt. His grappling is good enough to take him pretty far in MMA, but he's the type you'd watch just to see him get chinned.

Na he’s in Bellator. I think he’s a bellend, tbh. As Primate said, if Marcelo boots you out, you must be some sort of cunt. Marcelo’s pretty well known as one of the nicest people in the BJJ world.

Danis can’t strike for shit, either. His MMA career isn’t going anywhere great.

I mean he fought to a draw with Khabib. That is pretty good.
