***UFC!*** The Authentic Official Israel "The Last Stylebender" Adesanya Undefeated, Undisputed Middleweight Champion / General MMA Thread

Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

Have you gone down a Fedor/PRIDE wormhole yet?
Nah I didn’t get that far.
To be honest I think I’d have a hard time going back and watching older fights like that. With the Adesenya/Gastelum/Gaethje thing I get into it coz it’s still relevant.

I think I’d struggle to focus going back 5-10 years or whatever to watch MMA

Find Fedor vs Nog 1. It is worth it

Looks like another of Rousey's coaches hype-jobs loses again . Is everyone trained by Rousey's coach overrated and loses when favorites? Dude is cursed.

Brunson looked like a veteran contender up against a young kid who bit off too much.

Kid was calling for five rounds too. He was gassed halfway through the second.

Exactly what it looked like. People gotta stop sleeping on Brunson. He loses to the elites....mostly
Shabaznarynztn is talented, he can rebuild himself, he's not exposed or anything like that. But MW is stacked deep, deep enough that Brunson isn't close to the title but he is still nobody to fuck with. And being 22 years old and mixing it with the big boys above Brunson in that division just isn't going to happen unless you're a generational talent like...... well, like Jon Jones and that's it. :conf

Yea. I'm not ready for this title fight. Small cage favors Costa, and I've become a big fan of Adesanya

He needs to leave Edmund IMO.

I know it's probably the cool thing to say but honestly I believe that and he should have been pulled out at a the end of the 2nd Round. Any half decent coach with a brain cell could see he was done.

He has so much talent but I don't think staying at Glendale will benefit him that place has been the reason for the regression of so many fighters

Alright, second random trivia question.

What UFC "record" will Stipe set when the bell rings for round 1 vs Cormier in a couple of weeks?

I was hoping Edmen could challenge Israel. I am a fan of Israel and i want to see him challenged.

With Till losing recently, i am not sure who can challenge Israel other than Costa.

eh guessing, most hw championship fights competed?
Nope. Well, maybe, but I haven't checked that.

Hint - it's more an interesting (I think, anyway) point of trivia than an actual record. :thumbsup

Answer.

If the fight goes off as planned, Stipe will become the first UFC fighter to fight the same opponent for three consecutive matches. Never happened before.

That got an interested "Huh." from me when I read it, at least.

Yea. Kinda weird, really. I mean i guess I wouldn't have argued with someone if they'd told me that it had happened before, but I'm not surprised at all that this would be the first.

I am hoping Israel-Costa is going to be an incredible fight. Appearently Israel referred to Costa as Ricky Martin, which just made me laugh so hard.

If Israel wins, I reckon he stays at middleweight and establishes himself as the best ever

I am kind of torn about Izzy. Living in NZ, I think he's one of those guys where the local connection kinda throws off your objectivity.

I think it should be a great fight. I'm fully sold on Costa after the Romero fight, just in the sense that he doesn't know how to do anything except walk forward and try to drop the hammer on his opponent.

I can't see Paulo talking all this shit and then getting in the cage and turning into Anthony Smith vs Jon Jones. I think he'll be trying to tear Adesanya's head off. And that means Izzy will either carve him up and look SPECTACULAR, or at some point he'll zig when he should have zagged and get decapitated. Either way, I think it'll be an intense atmosphere. Costa may not ever be the champion and he'll never be a particularly skilled fighter. But for what he is, he is legit. He's a tough, powerful guy who will knock the shit out of a lot of guys who are a lot more skilled than he is.

They will also be in the smaller cage, making it easier for Costa to close that distance and get Adesanya behind the black line
