***UFC!*** The Authentic Official Israel "The Last Stylebender" Adesanya Undefeated, Undisputed Middleweight Champion / General MMA Thread

Who do you WANT to win? (Not who do you think WILL win)

  • I want the Fighting Irish to win

  • I want the 209 to represent again

  • I just want a good, action-packed fight like the last one

  • Test to see if I can change the poll?

  • Are these options 4 and 5?

Izzy is obviously playing a character on TV, and he seems like a genuinely nice dude. Conor was also playing a character, but he lives out that character, and his drug and alcohol problems present themselves regularly. He also has a very weird little man syndrome.
Problem with the playing a character thing... it's 9 times out 10 the only part I see of him. Adesanya, Conor etc....
Like for example Anthony Mundine (you guys probs dont know him but he was a big deal in Aussie boxing for many years) he is usually an arrogant, dopey moron in front of the cameras but behind the scenes away form the spotlight dude was a great person. very humble, super genuine and always helping local indigenous kids etc..

Problem is if all your public in front of the camera things is you being an over the top dickhead then it's not hard to understand why some people may dislike you. None of us ever really get to see the behind the scenes version of them

My problem with Izzy isn’t him playing a character, it’s how bad he is at it. Before he went off the deep end Mcgregir was actually funny and/or entertaining with his antics. Every time Izzy opens his mouth it’s just a complete cringe fest. He’s just horrible on the mic, should definitely just let his skills do the talking.

To each their own. His Rogan interview was one of the better fighter ones

I think trash talking, or "banter" like you brits say, is okay when is done at the right times, today it seems like everybody has something to say to promote the fight and it got tiresome, and "colorless", I mean, you know ? It´s like tattoos today, everybody has tattoos, everybody, so much that the people that actually don´t have it are in fact the different now....
Trash talking and all this drama in social media (not only on sports) is dull to me nowadays...

What happened with the strong silent type like Gary Cooper ? that was anmerican !

Sorry I should be more specific. He’s a cringe fest when it comes to fight promo, press conferences, post-fight interviews etc. He’s not bad in the long interview podcast format. I enjoyed his Rogan interview a lot as well.

Seems Condit didn't seem nearly as shot as assumed either, so that's good.

Absolutely dominant performace from Holm! Hope she gets the title shot next
Really?

She's 0-4 in title fights since beating Rousey. This is the first time in her entire post-Rousey UFC career that she's won a fight and NOT immediately gotten a title shot next. She's lost a title fight to literally every woman who has ever held a UFC belt at 135 or 145 pounds, except for Ronda and herself. She lost 3 in a row (including a title shot coming off a loss) then beat Bethe Correira at BW and that got her a title shot at FW. Enough of Holly Holm in title fights, FFS. Yeah she knocked out Ronda five years ago. She's lost four consecutive title shots against four different champions since then!

Holm looked great completely dominated Aldana a Nunes is rematch is probably the option even though she got emphatically stopped by her over a year ago. It's probably harder to make a case for GDR considering she was nullified for 5 Rounds against Nunes in December. Personally I think a 3rd fight with Bullet is the only fight for Nunes.

The best fight of the night was probably Crosbie vs Leary over at Bellator a shame that never got stopped after the first round.

Pico is on the Bellator card in November. Pretty excited to see him get to work on what he's been learning. I think within a year we'll see him step up to the Borics level.

For sure. His skill is obvious. He has since admitted that he had no idea how to actually fight. He knew how to box (with gloves) and he knew how to wrestle, but he couldn't execute a gameplan whatsoever. Now he's learning to actually fight, and I think he's going to match the initial hype, if a little delayed.

Or he gets starched by a nobody. Guess we'll see.
